8Bitdo unveiled a new affordable Xbox-branded controller for Windows PCs and consoles. For just $45, 8Bitdo’s “Ultimate Xbox Controller” offers advanced features you can find in much more expensive gamepads from other manufacturers.
8Bitdo Ultimate Xbox Controller is a wired gamepad (a trade-in you need to accept for additional capabilities) made for Xbox consoles and Windows PCs. It comes in black and white colors and has many features for customizing your gaming experience. Users can personalize button mapping, vibration, stick sensitivity, and trigger tension. Besides, 8Bitdo Ultimate Software allows creating profiles for specific games and switching between those profiles on the go.
In addition to rich customization capabilities, 8Bitdo Ultimate Xbox Controller offers additional buttons, such as Favorite, Share, and two paddles on the back of the gamepad. It also has a 3.5mm audio jack and a physical mic switch.
Of course, being wired, 8Bitdo Ultimate Xbox Controllers imposes several limitations. It tethers you to a console or PC, plus it does not support Android or iOS. Still, in return, you get some of the features found in the Xbox Elite Controller that costs four times more.
The newest gamepad from 8Bitdo weighs 330 grams or 0.7 pounds, and the non-removable USB-A cable is 3 meters or 9.8 feet long. 8Bitdo now accepts preorders and plans to ship the gamepad on May 31, 2022. You can snag one on Amazon.
