Starting next week, Apple will open some of its retail stores in the United States, according to CNBC. To ensure safety, temperature checks will be in place, and only a limited number of customers will be allowed in the stores at one time.
Amidst the coronavirus crisis, the Cupertino firm closed all 458 stores outside mainland China to curb the spread of the virus. Recently, several locations have reopened in countries which include South Korea, Australia, and Germany. A spokesperson for the company said:
“We’re excited to begin reopening stores in the US next week, starting with some stores in Idaho, South Carolina, Alabama, and Alaska. Our team is constantly monitoring local health data and government guidance, and as soon as we can safely open our stores, we will.”
Between all of these states, there are just six Apple stores, and the firm didn't state whether all of these will be opening. Apple operates 271 stores in the U.S. and 510 worldwide. The firm also said it will be primarily focusing on fixing products, and it will be requiring employees to wear face masks. Moreover, face masks will also be provided to customers.
It is recommending that customers make purchases online for pick-up or contactless delivery, instead of buying items in store.
