AT&T starts rolling out Android 7.0 Nougat to the S7 and S7 edge

Towards the end of last year, Samsung abruptly ended its Beta program and started the general rollout of Android 7.0 Nougat to its S7 and S7 edge handsets. While it did take a bit of time, February seems like a hot month for Samsung handsets in the US, as it is now being reported that those on AT&T are also seeing the update.

The Nougat update for the AT&T variant of the S7 and S7 edge also brings with it the February security update, that was announced earlier in the month. The update will arrive over the air and should reach most handsets over the next couple of weeks.

Samsung is expected to announce its next handset, the Galaxy S8 sometime in April. The firm has traditionally unveiled its handset at Mobile World Congress but has intentionally delayed the release in order to prevent any issues from occurring. Samsung's last handset, the Note7, experienced battery problems that caused explosions to occur, requiring the firm to recall and permanently discontinue the handset.
