Battlefield V multiplayer footage emerges at EA Play, battle royale mode confirmed

DICE at EA Play 2018 today announced that Battlefield V will include a battle royale mode. The game's first gameplay footage was also revealed today, showing off some multiplayer antics.

Battlefield V was announced and received a chaotic in-engine trailer last month, and today at the EA Play event, DICE unveiled a full multiplayer gameplay trailer. The trailer, seen above, shows off what the developer described in the earlier event, such as dynamic destruction, the new fortification construction feature, among the usual gameplay snippets.

DICE also announced today that the World War 2 shooter will include a battle royale mode in addition to the multiplayer, co-op, and single-player modes, just like the competition is doing. Sadly, no details regarding this mode were revealed today, other than the developer saying that it will be true to the Battlefield formula.

It was reiterated that Battlefield V will not include a premium pass program that the previous installments offered, and its release date is set for October 19, 2018. Further gameplay footage is slated to be revealed at Microsoft's presentation tomorrow, specifically from the single-player portion.
