Back in June 2025, Microsoft first launched Bing Video Creator, which allowed users to create videos with text prompts using the power of the OpenAI Sora video generation model. While most online tools reserved AI video creation for paid users, Microsoft democratized access to video generation models by making Bing Video Creator free for all Bing users.

In October 2025, OpenAI unveiled Sora 2, a much-improved video generation model that excelled at controllability, the ability to follow intricate instructions across different shots, and persisting world state more accurately. It also excelled at realistic, cinematic, and anime styles when compared to the original Sora model.

Today, Microsoft announced that the Sora 2 video generation model is now powering Bing Video Creator. As expected, the Sora 2 model in Bing Video Creator will allow users to create videos with more dynamic motion, richer visuals, and more photorealistic quality with audio integration.

To clearly differentiate AI-generated videos from regular videos, Bing Video Creator will include a visual watermark in all generated videos and will also have industry-standard C2PA credentials.

As before, all Bing users can enjoy 10 fast video generations for free. After that, they can enjoy unlimited slow creations. Bing users can also make use of their earned Microsoft Rewards points for additional fast video creations. The amount of Microsoft Rewards points required to generate a video will vary depending on different video settings. When you enable the use of Microsoft Rewards points for Bing Video Creator, Microsoft will start deducting Rewards points from your balance whenever you generate a video.
