Cricket Wireless is now offering unlimited data starting at $65 a month

Cricket Wireless, a subsidiary of AT&T, has announced today that it will be offering an unlimited plan to its customers for $70 a month, or $65 a month if the customer enrolls in auto pay.

Cricket Wireless today launched a rather ambitious plan for its network, offering unlimited everything for just $70 a month, or $65 if you opt for auto pay. Interestingly, this price includes monthly taxes and fees.

The firm calls out T-Mobile numerous times in its press release, noting that for a similar plan, T-Mobile would charge $25 more per month. Cricket is even offering a $100 bill credit if you switch from the Uncarrier.

The firm even promises that it has "over 275,000 more square miles of 4G LTE coverage than T-Mobile", which isn't entirely surprising since the AT&T subsidiary's network runs off of the back of its parent company. In fact, the firm promises that it provides more LTE coverage than T-Mobile, MetroPCS, Sprint, or Boost.

While $65 a month for unlimited talk, text, and data with no contracts sounds amazing, there are some caveats.

For one thing, the first month bill will be $70. After that, you can set yourself up with auto pay and get a $5 per month credit.

Also, maximum download speeds will be 8 Mbps and 4 Mbps for LTE and 4G, respectively. You're also not going to be able to use your phone as a mobile hotspot.

Other fine print is that activation fees can be up to $25 and that conditions are subject to change.

Nevertheless, this is a pretty big deal for customers looking for unlimited data. As far as these types of plans go, this could be the one that provides the most value.
