Disney Plus adds "continue watching" section in new update

Disney+ has added a "continue watching" section which lets users resume content that they were watching at an earlier time. This feature, available in its competitors including Netflix, Hulu, and others, had been missing when the platform launched earlier this month.

As spotted by 9to5Google, the new "continue watching" row appears on the home screen, showing a queue of recently viewed movies and TV shows with bars underneath representing how much of the content has been watched. The feature works across various platforms which means viewers can pick up where they left off on different devices.

Keven Mayer, head of Disney's direct to consumer decision, had announced this update last week at the Code Media 2019, saying “a row that says ‘continue watching’ all the different things that you’ve started, that’s going to start appearing over the next week". This is a server-side update so it won't require updating apps.
