This week, Fossil announced its Gen 5 Smartwatch. The Smartwatch now includes a Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset, unlocking new power management capabilities, such as color on the ambient screen, and a movable second-hand. There's a new Extended Battery Mode that will get you days of battery life, and a Time-Only Mode that will get you even more than that.
There's also a new swimproof speaker for the first time, meaning that you can use it to make calls and such. Coming later on this year, Fossil will also be releasing an app that lets you make calls when it's paired with an iPhone, something that's never before been possible with Wear OS.
It also comes with 8GB of storage and 1GB RAM. While I loved the Fossil Sport when I reviewed it, it definitely choked up on its 500MB RAM, so the extra memory should definitely provide a boost in performance.
