Games with Gold: Super Mega Baseball 2 and Streets of Rage are now free

The initial wave of free games heading for Xbox Live Gold members for the month of May is now available. As announced, Microsoft is presenting the newly released sports title Super Mega Baseball 2 for the Xbox One and Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage for the Xbox 360. Thanks to the latter title being in the company's Backward Compatibility program, Xbox One owners can also grab it.

The two games can be claimed right now via their respective store links listed below:

Super Mega Baseball 2 (Xbox One, May 1 - 31)

The critically acclaimed Super Mega Baseball series is back with gorgeous new visuals, deep team and league customization, and long-awaited online multiplayer modes. Accessible mechanics. Deep skill curve. Visceral pacing. Light-hearted vibe. Serious simulation.

Rookie or baseball purist, SMB2 packs a mode for everyone. Compete in ranked matchmaking (1v1), dominate friends in arranged matches (1v1, 2v1, 2v2), or take on the AI (solo, local co-op, online co-op) - all kept fair by Ego, the genre's most flexible difficulty system.

Sega Vintage Collection: Streets of Rage (Xbox 360, May 1 - May 15)

Join Axel, Blaze, and company as they battle the evil Mr. X across all three Streets of Rage games. Originally released for the Sega Genesis, the classic brawler series has now been updated for release on Xbox LIVE Arcade! Earn all new achievements, take on challenging new game trials, compete with others players across Xbox LIVE Leaderboards, and clean up the streets with a friend in two player local and online co-op!

There's still a couple of weeks left for any Xbox One owners who missed out on grabbing Assassin's Creed Syndicate from April's Games with Gold promotion, with the Ubisoft title slated to be replaced by Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain on May 16.

Beyond that, Microsoft's Xbox Game Pass subscription program will be adding a score of new games to its service in May as well, including State of Decay 2, Pro Evolution Soccer 2018, Overcooked, and more.
