Gboard for Android gets updated with translations, emoji and GIF suggestions

Google's Gboard has now been updated for Android to offer some new features and allow easier access to previously available tools.

First up is the ability to add emoji and GIFs on the fly while typing. When typing in a supported app (Messenger, Snapchat, Hangouts, and Allo), you'll see emoji or GIF suggestions when keywords are used. You can see an example of this in the image to the right. The word "sushi" is typed in the sentence and the appropriate emoji is suggested.

If you're looking to customize your keyboard with new art, Google has added a new themes section that can now be easily accessed by tapping the "Google" logo on the upper left-hand side. Inside this same menu, you will also have access to a tool that can translate on the fly. This means that you'll be able to easily translate incoming and outgoing text in a variety of different languages.

The updated Gboard is available for download for the Google Play Store.
