Global ad agency giant Publicis goes all-in on Microsoft Cloud and Copilot

The deal includes a massive internal rollout of Microsoft 365 Copilot to Publicis' 114,000 employees and Azure will be the preferred cloud provider.

Microsoft Publicis

Publicis Groupe is one of the largest advertising companies in the world. Back in 2018, Publicis announced a major partnership with Microsoft to develop and roll out the Marcel AI platform. Today, Microsoft and Publicis announced a new strategic partnership to build a full-stack marketing solution that brings together AI agents, legacy systems, and identity-based data. Both companies will make use of each other’s expertise to embed agentic AI across the entire marketing workflow.

As part of the partnership, Publicis Sapient’s Slingshot framework will leverage Microsoft Azure to help organizations migrate legacy systems and build cloud-native foundations for AI adoption. The focus is on modernizing core infrastructure so businesses can scale AI workloads more efficiently.

Publicis Sapient’s AI solutions will integrate with Microsoft Copilot Studio, Microsoft Agent 365, and Microsoft IQ, allowing enterprises to embed AI directly into their critical internal business processes.

A key highlight of this partnership is its identity-driven data approach, built on Publicis’ Epsilon platform. Unlike AI systems that rely on public or siloed datasets, Epsilon combines identity, media, marketing, and customer intelligence to create a unified data layer. AI agents built on Microsoft Fabric and powered by Epsilon will be able to reason, decide, and act on trusted, real-world proprietary data.

For example, an AI agent can automatically identify high-value customer segments, generate and personalize ad content targeting those customers, launch cross-channel campaigns automatically, and continuously optimize marketing spend in real time based on the results.

Today's announcement is not just about developing a new solution on top of Azure. Microsoft announced that Publicis will be deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot to all of its 114,000+ employees worldwide. The company has also selected Microsoft Azure as its preferred cloud provider. Finally, Publicis will become Microsoft’s global media agency of record.
