Microsoft has announced that the PMDG DC-6 aircraft is available to purchase in Microsoft Flight Simulator for $54.99. The firm said that the current price is just a special release price and will be ramped up to $69.99 later on. The package includes the DC-6A and DC-6B variants which are cargo and passenger planes respectively.
Microsoft said the new plane is feature-rich and highly detailed. It was created based on one of the world’s last remaining PMDG DC-6s that is still able to fly. The flight deck, instrumentation, flight characteristics, vibration characteristics, and mechanical systems have all been matched to the actual plane making the experience more realistic.
The package includes the PMDG Virtual Flight Engineer which can sit and let you do all the flying or take over the systems, checklists, and engine management tasks if you want to do less work. To help you get started, the PMDG Simulations YouTube channel has created a playlist to help players get to grips with flying the plane.
If you are interested in purchasing the plane for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator, you should head over to the PMDG’s website or the in-game Microsoft Flight Simulator Marketplace to place your order. It should be noted that PMDG's website says digitally delivered products are not refundable so make sure you definitely want to buy the plane first.
