Early Windows 11 versions, like the predecessor, Windows 10, allowed users to customize what controls appear in the Action Center. These quick action tiles let you toggle Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, airplane mode, enable Night Light, and more. At one point, Microsoft removed the ability to add/delete tiles, turning the control center into a scrollable list of all available toggles. While you can rearrange them, it is not that difficult to find user complaints and requests to bring back the ability to edit quick actions.
Good news: Microsoft appears to be listening.
Recent Windows 11 preview builds have the ability to edit quick actions hidden inside, hinting at a possible return in future updates. This was spotted by @phantomofearth, who shared the observation on X:
It looks like the ability to remove unwanted quick actions from Windows 11's quick settings menu is finally returning!

Hidden in build 26300.7965 is an updated energy saver quick setting which supports this (removing it doesn't work just yet, though). Hopefully more follow suit. pic.twitter.com/hLggnHSNCz
In addition to that, Microsoft is adding a new submenu to the control center, splitting the energy saver button. Now, if you press the arrow button next to it, Windows 11 will show you a list of features that could help you save some battery. Those include Dark Mode toggle, Eco Brightness, Power Mode, and Screen Contrast:
This subpage already works properly on devices with a battery, includes a bunch of toggles including one for dark mode. So hey, I guess we are getting a dark mode toggle in quick settings, not a dedicated top-level action though.

In case you missed it, recent improvements to the tray area in Windows 11 include a new indicator for shared audio, which can quickly get you into the feature's menu and its new separate volume sliders for each connected device. You can learn more about that here.
