Microsoft Launcher beta version 4.7 adds daily custom backgrounds and more

Microsoft released an update for beta testers using its Launcher on Android today. Version 4.7 adds daily custom backgrounds, scrollable wallpapers, lock screen calendar notifications, and more.

If you're a beta tester for the Microsoft Launcher on Android, new features are heading your way today. The new update is version 4.7, and as usual, it contains quite a bit. It follows last month's update, which added native Cortana integration.

The big feature in version 4.7 is daily custom backgrounds. These can come every day from Bing, or you can also use your own set of images to rotate through. You can also now set your backgrounds to be scrollable.

This release includes a number of other features as well, such as lock screen calendar notifications and improvements to badge notifications. Here's the full changelog:

• Daily custom background: Get daily background not only from Bing but now from your own custom set of wallpapers!

• Set your wallpapers to be scrollable

• Badge notifications: Control app notification badges for specific apps.

• Lock screen calendar notifications.

• UI adjustments:

○ Simplified long press app context menu;

○ Support both move & clone when moving apps in app drawer to form a folder;

○ Bug fix on Feedback & Help page;

To update your Microsoft Launcher, or to install it for the first time, navigate to the Google Play Store here. You can also use that page to sign up for the beta program. If that's too much though, this update should land for the general public in about two weeks.
