Microsoft slashes $100 off unlocked Lumia 950, now available for $449

Microsoft unveiled the Lumia 950 alongside its extra-large sibling last October, before it went on sale a few weeks later, priced at $549 off-contract. The unlocked handset has been available from the Microsoft Store at that price since then, but it's just picked up a chunky 22% discount as part of the company's Spring Sale.

You can now buy the Lumia 950 with $100 off its regular price, bringing it down to $449. That's also 25% lower than its full retail price of $598.99 from AT&T.

The Lumia 950 key specs include:

  • 5.2-inch AMOLED screen with Quad HD (2560x1440px) resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 3
  • 1.8GHz hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor
  • 3GB RAM
  • 32GB onboard storage (plus microSD card support up to 200GB)
  • 20MP PureView rear camera with auto-focus, optical image stabilization, Rich Capture, triple-LED flash and 4K video recording at 30fps
  • 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens and 1080p video capture
  • Bluetooth 4.1
  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac
  • NFC
  • Qi wireless charging
  • 4G LTE connectivity (GSM)
  • Dual-SIM (nano)
  • Removable 3000mAh battery
  • 145 x 73.2 x 8.2mm; 150g

The Lumia 950 will remain available at its discounted price until March 27. Notably, as the small print points out, the offer applies only to the black version of the handset, but not the white model.

Along with the Lumia 950 XL, the 950 also comes with a free one-year Office 365 Personal subscription, an offer that will continue through to June 30.
