Microsoft slashes $250 off entry-level Surface Book, cutting its price to $1,249

The entry-level model in the Surface Book range - with a Core i5 processor, 8GB RAM and 128GB SSD - is now much more affordable. Microsoft has cut its price by 17%, reducing it from $1,499 to $1,249.

This month, Microsoft launched updated versions of its Surface Book with Intel Core i7 processors, upgraded graphics performance, and improved battery life, priced from $2,399. Of course, not everyone needs such fierce performance on the go - and not everyone can afford it either.

If your budget is a bit more modest, Microsoft is hoping to tempt you into buying its entry-level Surface Book instead. With a Core i5 processor, 8GB of RAM and a 128GB SSD, it usually costs $1,499 - but Microsoft has now slashed its price by $250 (just under 17%), reducing it to $1,249.

That deal will remain available until November 28 - but if you can squeeze a bit more out of your bank account, you might be interested in another offer later this week.

As part of its Black Friday promotions, Microsoft will be offering a whopping $400 (21%) off its Surface Book model with Core i5, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and a discrete GPU. Normally priced at $1,899, it will be available instead for $1,499.
