Microsoft's Lumia 530 launches on T-Mobile on October 15 for $79.20

T-Mobile has confirmed that it will launch Microsoft's low-cost Lumia 530 later this month, priced at $79.20 - but the device will also be available via Best Buy and Microsoft Stores from October 5.

The Lumia 530, Microsoft's most affordable Windows Phone ever, is heading to the US, and will be available to buy on Cricket Wireless from tomorrow. But after revealing back in July that it planned to offer the Lumia 530 too, T-Mobile US has today confirmed its own details of pricing and availability for the handset.

The Lumia 530 will be available on T-Mobile from October 15, and will be priced at $79.20 off-contract - just a bit more expensive than a recent report had suggested. That's a pretty affordable price - but it will still cost almost $30 more with T-Mo than with Cricket.

Key features of the Lumia 530 include:

  • 4-inch FWVGA (854x480px) LCD
  • Quad-core 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 200
  • 512MB RAM
  • 4GB storage (plus microSD support up to 128GB)
  • 5MP fixed-focus rear camera
  • 1430mAh battery
  • 119.7 x 62.3 x 11.7mm; 129g

T-Mobile has also revealed that the Lumia 530 will be available to purchase at Best Buy and Microsoft Stores from October 5.
