Microsoft's Xbox Series X and Series S are up for pre-order on September 22

The time that everyone has been waiting for is here; well, it's almost here. After well over a year of teases and gradual announcements from Microsoft, the firm finally announced when you can pre-order its flagship Xbox Series X, and the newly-announced Xbox Series S.

While the company announced Xbox Series S pricing yesterday, there was no word on Xbox Series X pricing until now. The higher-end model will cost you $499, $200 more than the $299 Xbox Series S. You can pre-order beginning on September 22, with launch day on November 10.

That's not all, because Xbox All Access is available in 12 countries. Starting at $24.99 a month, you can get a next-gen Xbox console and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. With a $14.99 value for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, that's getting you an Xbox Series S for $10 a month. Obviously, the Xbox Series X will cost a bit more ($34.99 a month). Moreover, EA Play now comes with Xbox Game Pass.

The Xbox Series X is obviously the flagship of the lineup, offering things like true 4K gaming, while the Series S promises 1440p gaming; the latter also doesn't have a disc drive. They both have ray tracing though, and support features like Microsoft's new Smart Delivery, which gives you the version of a game that's best for your console. That means that if you don't upgrade on day one, you can buy a game like Halo Infinite for your Xbox One, and then automatically get the Xbox Series X version when you get that console.

Along with pre-orders kicking off on September 22, Microsoft also said that Game Pass for PC and the Xbox app will finally become generally available on September 17.
