Multiple Surface devices get firmware and driver updates

Microsoft has released firmware and driver updates to many of its Surface devices, specifically in the Surface Pro, Book, and Laptop families. Some of the updates target different versions of Windows, and they aim to improve connectivity and battery performance, among other things.

For starters, if you're using a Surface Pro 6 with Windows 10 version 1803 or newer, you'll see the following updates:

Surface System Aggregator

  • 239.3101.139.0 improves battery performance.
Surface – System – 4.18.139.0

Surface Integration – System devices

  • 4.18.139.0 improves integration between services.
Surface – System – 3.0.10.1

Surface Pen Firmware Update – System devices

  • 3.0.10.1 resolves intermittent pen top button click failure on Surface Pen with no clip.
    Use the Surface Pen Checker Tool to verify that the Pen’s firmware was successfully updated.
Surface – HIDClass – 1.0.9.0

Surface Pen Integration Device – Human Interface Devices

  • 1.0.9.0 enables firmware update to Surface Pen with no clip.

If you're using a Surface Pro (5th gen), you'll see all the same updates, but replace the first of them with this one:

Surface System Aggregator

  • 239.2660.257.0 improves battery performance stability.

Both the Surface Laptop and Surface Laptop 2 will get the same update on Windows 10 version 1803:

In addition to those updates, there are a couple more if you're running the most recent version of Windows 10, which is the May 2019 Update or version 1903. These updates are the same for the Surface Pro (5th gen), Surface Pro 6, Surface Book, Surface Book 2, Surface Laptop, and Surface Laptop 2. They aim to improve connectivity on the devices:

You can download these updates through Windows Update on your PC, though they should eventually make their way to your computer automatically.
