Yes, we know; you are most likely playing the Diablo III open beta right now. You still have until Monday to play the beta of Blizzard's upcoming action-RPG so why not take a few minutes off to watch the latest BlizzCast video podcast? The video was released late on Friday as part of Blizzard's latest unlock on the Diablo III launch website.
The video has interviews with the game's senior designer Jason Bender, its senior sound designer Kris Giampa, and its lead content designer Kevin Martens. In Bender's chat, he talks about the randomization in Diablo III including the variety of items and weapons players can find in the game. Locations and quests will also be highly randomized and if you move into the Nightmare or Hell difficultly levels, Bender says you will see new armor designs, new abilities for the game's creatures and more.
Giampa talks about developing the sound for Diablo III, including his process for creating and then tweaking the creature sounds. We also see how he uses various objects to generate audio effects that will later be put into the game. Finally, Martens talks about questing in Diablo III, along with how players learn more about the game's lore, and how co-op will work in Diablo III. There's even some talk about a certain cow level.
Just a reminder; the open beta for Diablo III is underway right now and will end on Monday, April 23rd at 10 am Pacific Time (that's 1 pm Eastern time). The full version will be released on May 15th.
