New renders show us a simpler interpretation of Apple's much-hyped 10th anniversary iPhone

There are still several months left until the release of the iPhone. Rumors have been swirling that there could be a third addition to the usual pair of handsets announced every year, being a special edition variant that will pull out all of the stops when it comes to design and technology.

While that could still be the case, Mac Otakara is reporting that the highly anticipated handset will offer a simpler design more akin to the iPhone 4. It will incorporate a stainless steel bezel that is sandwiched between a flat OLED display and glass back panel. Unlike the iPhone 4, the display will employ a sleeker design thanks to its use of 2.5D glass that should have the front and rear of the device melt into the bezel.

This is much different from earlier rumors that reported a curved display could make an appearance for the first time on an Apple device. From the renders, we can also see the vertically arranged camera sensors, which is in stark contrast to what we currently see on the iPhone 7 Plus. Naturally, we will have to wait and see what Apple will unveil towards the end of the year.
