Preorders for the Surface Pro 7, Laptop 3, and Pro X now open

Microsoft announced a bunch of new products during its special event today, including the Surface Pro 7, Laptop 3, and Pro X. Preorders are now open for those products in the Microsoft Store.

Microsoft held its big bang Surface event in New York today where it announced a whole host of products, including ones that are not due till next year. Of the products announced, at least three of them can be preordered starting today – Surface Pro 7, Surface Laptop 3, and Surface Pro X, with deliveries for the Pro 7 and Laptop 3 starting 22nd October, and that of the Pro X starting 5th November.

Here’s where you can pre-order them:

Surface Pro 7:

The Pro 7 received a modest spec bump in the way of new 10th-generation (Ice Lake) Intel Core processors. The design remains similar to that of earlier generations of the device. However, it now finally comes with a Type-C port that replaces the Mini DisplayPort. The base SKU packing an Intel Core i3 processor with 4GB of RAM and 128GB internal storage starts at $749 and goes all the way up to the Intel Core i7 sporting SKU with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage costing $2299.

Surface Laptop 3:

The Laptop 3 update is somewhat major, as it now comes in two sizes – 13-inch and 15-inch variants – with the addition of a customized AMD processor on the larger variant running Radeon RX Vega graphics. Like the Pro 7, the Laptop 3 too sees the addition of a Type-C port. The base SKU of the Laptop 3 running a 10th-generation (Ice Lake) Intel Core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory starts at $999. The top of the line 15-inch SKU powered by the AMD Ryzen Microsoft Edition chipset along with Vega 11 graphics will set you back by $2799. That version comes with a terabyte of storage and 32GB of RAM.

Surface Pro X:

The latest entrant into the Surface family is the Pro X. Powered by a custom ARM chipset called the Microsoft SQ1 chipset based on Qualcomm’s flagship offering, the Pro X sports an extremely thin profile with thin bezels, two Type-C ports and a 13-inch display packed into a 12-inch chassis. It is coupled with a new Type Cover that houses the new Surface Slim Pen. The base variant that sports 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage starts at $999 and tops out at $1799. For that price, you get 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

The Surface Pro 7 and Surface Laptop 3 start shipping on the 22nd of October, whereas the Surface Pro X begins shipping on the 5th of November.
