Qualcomm has announced their new iteration of the Snapdragon 450 platform for mid-range smartphones and tablets this year during Mobile World Congress. The new chips from the Intel of mobile processors have improved significantly over the previous generation.

Improvements abound as Qualcomm announced that not only will they improve general compute performance over their older sibling, to the factor of 25 percent, they will also improve performance in graphics by a massive 25 percent over the Snapdragon 435. This means that not only will you get into Twitter faster, but you will get to slay your enemies without a hitch in your favourite game.

Battery life, the bane of everyone’s existence will also get massive improvements over the previous generation. According to Qualcomm, the new chipset will improve battery life by 30 percent while gaming, and support Quick Charge 3.0, something high-end users have grown accustomed to.

Amongst other improvements, they also mentioned that the new chip will support Bokeh effects and dual cameras up to 13 megapixels. The new processors will be available to OEMs by Q3 2017 and should appear in consumer devices by the end of 2017.
