Samsung announces the Galaxy S8 Active, exclusive to AT&T for a limited time

Today, Samsung finally announced the Galaxy S8 Active, after months of leaks and rumors. The company's 'Active' line of handsets uses "military-grade materials for the utmost durability", protecting it from "shock, abrasion, tilting, or twisting."

The handset uses a 5.8-inch 18.5:9 QHD Super AMOLED display, the same as the standard Galaxy S8. It also includes the 12MP f/1.7 rear camera and the 8MP front camera, along with support for AT&T's fake 5G network, 5G Evolution. Samsung is also promising a long-lasting battery, at 4,000mAh.

AT&T is offering a number of deals for those that purchase a Galaxy S8 Active, or any other Galaxy handset, and customers can take advantage of all of them.

  • Get a Galaxy S8 FREE when you add a new line on AT&T Next® and add DIRECTV

  • Get $500 towards a Samsung TV purchased online when you buy an eligible smartphone on AT&T Next and add DIRECTV

  • Get a Samsung Gear S2 for 99-cents or the Gear S3 for $49.99 on a 2-year agreement when you purchase the smartphone on AT&T Next

  • Get up to $200 in credits when you buy the eligible smartphone on AT&T Next and trade in an eligible smartphone

Customers that want a Samsung Galaxy S8 Active can pre-order it here starting tomorrow, and it will be available in stores on August 11 starting at $28.34 per month. The phone is exclusive to AT&T "for a limited time", so there will likely be further news of availability in the future.
