Samsung is launching two new Sound Tower speakers, the Sound Tower ST50F (240W) and the ST40F (160W), at IFA 2025 in Berlin. If you don't know what a Sound Tower is, it's basically a line of powerful, portable speakers designed for large gatherings. The new models come with the usual features like water resistance (IPX4), customizable lighting, and long battery life.

Samsung says it has redesigned the acoustic structure to pump out room-filling sound. The company uses Waveguide technology on the dual dome tweeters to spread the audio out for a wider soundstage.

There are also four new sound modes, Standard, Wide, Stadium, and Outdoor, to let you tweak the audio for different environments. The bigger ST50F model packs 6.5" dual woofers and 25mm (0.98") dome tweeters, while the smaller ST40F has 5.25" woofers and 20mm (0.78") dome tweeters. Samsung also lets you customize the bass with Deep, Punchy, and Gentle modes. For more hands-on fun, there are the usual DJ Booth and Karaoke modes, and even a guitar input.

In terms of design, the speakers have a bold, geometric look. Samsung is pushing a concept it's calling "Grip & Roll" for portability. This means the ST40F has an integrated handle and a grip slot at the bottom.

The larger ST50F gets the "telescopic" handle treatment along with a set of wheels to make moving its 240W of power less of a workout. A neat feature is that the batteries on both models are replaceable. Samsung claims the ST50F can run for up to 18 hours, while the ST40F gets up to 12 hours on a single charge.

Now, let's talk lights and colors (it is a party speaker after all). Samsung has added an upgraded lighting system for a 360° effect. The lights are split across five areas, including the handle light, which also illuminates the controls and can hold a phone.

There is also a "track light" around the woofers, a "ring light" around the tweeters, "line lights" on the body's perimeter, and "crystal lights" at the base. You can control the lights via the Sound Tower app, which has presets like "Festival" and "Chill". The app lets the lights react to the music beats and adjust the colors and effects.
