Samsung's first event of the year is here, with the company taking the wraps off its newest flagship smartphones and announcing a new lineup of earbuds, the Galaxy Buds4. It consists of two models: the Galaxy Buds4 and the Galaxy Buds4 Pro. Both feature a similar design to the previous-gen models, but now with better noise cancellation, EQ, battery life, and other improvements.
The Galaxy Buds4 Pro come with silicone tips, while the regular Buds4 have regular "heads" with an "open-fit" design like your regular AirPods (Samsung is still taking a lot of design cues from Apple). The Galaxy Buds4 Pro feature a wider woofer paired with the tweeter and a narrower edge to increase the speaker area by about 20%.
Both models have improved active noise cancellation (ANC), transparency mode, and adaptive EQ, with the Pro model delivering more efficient noise cancellation, in part due to having silicon tips that physically block sounds. The buds can also recognize when someone is talking to you and lower the volume or detect a siren nearby to keep you alert and aware of the surroundings.

The Galaxy Buds4 lineup supports voice commands so that you can interact with AI agents without reaching for your phone in your pocket. Additionally, Samsung equipped its new earbuds with the Head Gesture feature, allowing you to answer calls by nodding your head. However, this feature is only available when paired with a Galaxy phone, just like seamless pairing with no need to install the Wearables app, control center integration, and more.
The Buds4 and Buds4 Pro use Bluetooth 6.1 to connect, and they support Samsung's proprietary SSC codec to play 24-bit / 96kHz audio that the company calls ultra high-quality. However, this feature is only available on recent Galaxy phones.

The case for both models now has a new transparent clamshell design with wireless charging. Samsung promised better battery life with up to six hours of playback, plus 30 hours more with the charging case.
The Galaxy Buds4 cost $179, while the Pro version will set you back $249. Preorders are now live on Samsung's official website. Available colors include white, black, and pink. The latter is exclusive to the Galaxy Buds4 Pro on the official Samsung website.
