Sony restores some DualShock 4 controller colors for the PlayStation 4

Sony announced today that select recent colors of the DualShock 4 wireless controller for the PlayStation 4 have returned. These additions are on top of the more than 25 existing colors already available worldwide.

The DualShock 4 is bringing back the Berry Blue, Red Camouflage, Rose Gold, and Steel Black colors. If you recall, the Red Camouflage and Rose Gold were announced in August of last year along with the Electric Purple and Titanium Blue colors. Other existing colors of the wireless controller include the classic Jet Black, Wave Blue, Sunset Orange, and Red Crystal.

In a blog post, Steve Schwartz, Senior Manager of PS VR and Peripherals Product Marketing, noted that "the DualShock 4 wireless controller family has continued to grow since its launch almost seven years ago". All the returning colors are now available to purchase via Sony U.S.'s PlayStation website for $64.99. The company will also roll out these designs to participating retailers later this month.

It is, perhaps, worth noting that these controllers won't be compatible with the new games coming with the PlayStation 5 when it launches in October or November. This was confirmed by Sony earlier this month, noting that it wanted the next-gen games to make use of the new capabilities and features of the DualSense wireless controller.
