SteelSeries' Rival 700 mouse offers a fully customizable OLED display and tactile feedback

It used to be that you would just use any old mouse to play games on a PC. But, over the past decade, things have changed, with amateur and professional gamers requiring more precise controls and higher quality hardware. In order to feed this hunger, SteelSeries has introduced its latest gaming mouse, the Rival 700.

With the Rival 700, you get a mouse with several distinct components, that SteelSeries thinks will help you elevate your game above the competitions. The first is the OLED display that can be customized to view in-game stats, counts per inch (CPI) settings, view profiles and more. The OLED display can also be used to add more flair to the mouse with logos and animated GIFs.

One of the huge differentiating factors of the Rival 700 is in its ability to notify players when ammo is running low, when cooldowns are about to refresh or when health is hitting a critical low via tactile feedback. The feedback isn't just limited to the aforementioned criteria and can be set to coincide with other events or alerts that occur in-game. The vibration can be calibrated to desired strength, with varying patterns and has been strategically configured so that it will never interfere with the tracking mechanism on the mouse.

For those looking for a bit more when it comes to customization, the '700' offers modular components that can be swapped out. These will be sold separately, but will allow users to fine tune the mouse to their liking with different materials and even tracking sensors.

The SteelSeries Rival 700 is available now in the United States for $99 USD directly from the company's website.
