This stunning new 'Halo 5'-themed Xbox One will make Cortana feel right at home

Microsoft has unveiled a stylish new Halo 5-themed version of its 1TB Xbox One console. The limited edition console bundle is available to pre-order now for $499, ahead of its release on October 20.

Microsoft is over in Germany this week for the Gamescom industry expo, where the company is showing off some of what it has in store for its Xbox portfolio. In its opening keynote today, the company unveiled a special version of its Xbox One console - one that's sure to delight Halo fans.

It revealed a Halo 5: Guardians-themed version of its 1TB Xbox One, which will get a limited-edition release later this year. With a much more adventurous exterior design than the standard console, the Halo version comes in a bundle which also includes:

  • Matching new-generation wireless controller with integrated 3.5mm audio jack
  • Spartan-themed SteelBook case with Halo 5: Guardians Limited Edition full game download
  • Guardian model by Metal Earth
  • Halo: The Fall of Reach animated series
  • Spartan Locke's Classified Orders
  • Exclusive DLC: Warzone REQ Bundle, FOTUS-class armor, and multiplayer emblem
  • Chat headset
  • HDMI cable
  • Power cable
  • 14-day Xbox Live Gold trial

The new console bundle will be available on October 20th - a week before the game itself is released - but pre-orders are now open, priced at $499.

Earlier today, Microsoft revealed that its new user experience "powered by Windows 10" will arrive for the Xbox One in November, and will include support for Cortana - and the new limited edition console looks like it could be the perfect home for Microsoft's digital 'personal assistant' in your living room.
