Twitter makes it easier to DM a tweet with new iOS and Android update

Twitter has updated its app for iOS and Android, making it easier to share tweets via Direct Message. The new button will arrive in an update that is scheduled to roll out today.

Over the course of the year, Twitter has found new ways to invigorate its service. Now, courtesy of an update for the iOS and Android app, Twitter will be adding a new button to the timeline that will allow users to easily share a tweet via Direct Message (DM).

So how does this new button work? After the update, your timeline will now offer a DM icon directly on each tweet. When you click this icon, it will pull up a list of people or you can search for a user, offering you a much simpler way to share via DM. After selecting who will receive the message, the tweet will be sent.

The update will arrive for both iOS and Android devices sometime today via an update. Unfortunately, there was no mention of a Windows Phone / Mobile update in the press release.
