Twitter tests new feature to let you continue your most recent tweet

Twitter appears to be experimenting with a new capability that will allow you to keep your most recent tweet rolling. The testing was spotted by a tipster who shared a few screenshots with Android Police.

The feature in testing will make it easier to continue a thread directly from the tweet compose box. It should be noted, though, that you can only continue a thread for your most recent tweet, with no word on whether this will apply to older tweets. To do the latter, you still need to make a reply to your older tweets.

If the feature is enabled on your account, you can keep a previous tweet going by tapping the compose button and swiping down on "What's happening?" Then you will see the "Continue thread" option under your latest tweet.

It's not clear how widespread the testing is or when Twitter plans to roll it out to everyone. The feature is only one of a slew of experimental capabilities the micro-blogging site has been testing recently. Late last month, Twitter also tested the ability to schedule tweets on the web.
