Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 DLC plans change after "frank feedback" from fans

Paradox Interactive has decided to change its plans to make some vampire clans of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 DLC exclusive, spelling good news for fans.

After years of waiting, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 finally received a firm release date from publisher Paradox Interactive in August, bringing the supernatural RPG to fans after many delays. However, just as it kicked off pre-orders, the company revealed some odd DLC plans, where two vampire clans from the campaign were gated behind DLC.

After a heavy backlash from the community regarding this DLC decision, Paradox has decided to make the duo a part of the base game. With this major change, the Lasombra and Toreador clans, touting shadow-wielding and enthralling powers, respectively, will be available to players for no extra cost.

"Thanks to our community for the frank feedback on Bloodlines 2 and the Premium Edition. That feedback made it clear: Lasombra and Toreador belong in the base game, so that is what we are doing," said Marco Behrmann, White Wolf Publishing Executive Vice President and Bloodlines 2 Executive Producer. "We’d also like to thank The Chinese Room for their quick turnaround on the concepts for the post-launch Story Packs. We’re constantly impressed by their creativity and skill in weaving enticing narrative threads that expand on the main story in Bloodlines 2."

Paradox also announced new story expansion packs today that will be a part of the Premium Edition and the Expansion Pass. Dubbed Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 - Loose Cannon (Brujah Sheriff Benny’s story) and The Flower & The Flame (Toreador Primogen Ysabella’s path), these will offer additional story content as post-launch premium DLC.

Loose Cannon is slated to launch in the second quarter of 2026, while The Flower & The Flame has a 2026 quarter three launch window.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 is releasing on October 21, 2025, on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5.
