Verizon chickens out, will not charge $2 convenience fee

When Verizon announced that it would charge a $2 convenience fee for paying online, many were left scratching their head as the company wanted you to pay them a fee to pay your bill. Well it seems that Verizon regained its ability to think critically and has decided that no, it will not charge the fee according to the WSJ.

The fee was a bit absurd to charge an individual to pay his or her bill. Sure, Verizon did offer alternatives to avoid the fee by paying with a check or mailing in your payment but lets face it, most of us enjoy the ability to pay online.

Fortunately, someone at Verizon realized that this was a dumb move and was able to stop this implementation. It is good to see the company listening to the harsh feedback as typically they will implement these types of fees with complaints falling on deaf ears.

So take it as a small victory but Verizon backed down from its stance, the ludicrous $2 fee is no more and hopefully their 4G is working as one would hope, right?
