Windows 8 Hands-on Labs open for registration

Microsoft has begun registering users for Windows 8 Hands-on Labs Online, live events that will showcase the features available to developers in their latest desktop operating system.

Windows 8 RTM hit MSDN on August 15th, and if you are a budding Windows 8 developer, or are just curious to see what Windows 8 is capable of, Microsoft would like you to register for the Windows 8 Hands-on Labs Online (HOLOs).

Starting on August 28th, the HOLOs are live online events where you listen to presentations and work on lab exercises. During the labs, Microsoft experts can provide assistance or guidance on a one-to-one basis either by chatting with you or remotely taking control of your lab. The final event is on September 25th.

Three different labs are being offered, showing developers how to create Windows 8 Apps, how to utilise features such as orientation, snapping and semantic zooming, and searching and sharing. Both C# and Javascript languages will be covered.

Registration is limited and Microsoft recommends you sign up as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
