YouTube celebrates 2016 with its annual 'Rewind' video

It's that time of year again where YouTube attempts to recap some of the year's most memorable moments. Much like every year, the mash-up features celebrities and YouTube content creators.

As we dive into the final few weeks of 2016, it's not uncommon to see recap and summation posts of events that occurred throughout the year. While there was a lot of turmoil in the world, there were also some quite entertaining and brilliant moments as well. Much like last year, YouTube has done its best to summarize the year by continuing its tradition of offering an annual mash-up that focuses on the year's most viral moments, utilizing popular stars and it's own content creators.

While you might not recognize all of the moments and the stars in the video, there are cameos by tech titans Marques Brownlee from MKBHD and Unbox Therapy's Lewis Hilsenteger. The seven-minute long video makes for a fairly entertaining piece to watch with its upbeat music and light-hearted approach. YouTube has also dedicated a page that will allow you to revisit the top trending videos of the year.
