The main issue I have is the texture "pop." Because we cannot control the detail level, any textures off screen are unloaded and when you turn, the textures are like something from PS1. Absolutely disgusting. It's very distracting when you are shooting some people and then turn sharply and see blobs of goo coming at you instead of textured enemies.

ID really dropped the ball with this one. I mean, the performance is good (I get 60 FPS all the time), but they really need to fix the texture issues.

Check your drivers or something ( background stuff ), mouse sensitivity is fairly high atm (need to lower it) and i can fling the mouse any direction and not get any popin at all. There has to be something causing it to do that on your end. Whats your specs

There's no way it's my system specs. I am running this game on an SSD and a GTX 570 with 8GB system RAM. I do get 60FPS with no stuttering so it seems it's just the way this game works.

BTW I am using the BF3 beta drivers from Nvidia.

Yea ok, good luck.

What's that supposed to mean? If I can run BF3 on high at 50FPS than why is Rage running with blurry and popping textures? Also, why am I getting 60FPS steady with no stuttering?

The only constant is Rage. I honestly do not know why they disabled any sort of graphics settings ... I'm sure that would have resolved the majority of issues people are having with textures, etc.

No the constant between you running BF3 and RAGE is not rage, its your computer, and irrelivant as they are diffrent engines with alot of BF3's features turned off during the beta

And what i mean by " yea ok, good luck " is just that, you have already decided its not your computer. So its pointless to even remotly help. Not going to waste my time.

Your getting 60fps with no stuttering because thats how the game was designed.

Not seing even remotly close to whats happening there on my end, There has to be something taking up resources on your end if thats whats going on

here we go with the double standards and criticism...if this game was by Gearbox and called Borderlands 2 you'd all be singing its praises. what did you expect exactly? they really described this game from a while back as an extensive shooter, not something entirely new. i still haven't played it, but i think many of you are being too harsh.

Nobody here is saying anything so far. Everything has been linked to outside reviews, which are pretty bad considering the hype and push for this game. As long as you know going in what you are getting, I don't think its a big deal. But it sounds to me like id verbalized the game to be something more than it is. (Or, we all assumed it was more than what it is.)

Again, it is id. So linear, no story, basic gameplay, and fantastic graphics is pretty much what I expected. But that's not enough going into 2012.

OK then why are there people with i7's and triple SLI 580's still having this issue? It's the game engine, NOT our systems.

They need to beef up the texture caching since consoles only have limited amounts of available RAM.

Dude stop. TONS of people are having the same issue than this guy. Rage has serious texture streaming issues for most users right now.

why couldn't it be the game? schizo with the vid just proved the game is half broken... i don't understand why you are still talking about this when it's been proven the game is messed.

Well for starters ID specifically said that SLI is not supported a good while ago.

big deal, most game's don't support SLI/Crossfire anyways... it's the hardware manufacturers that do it via drivers. I'm pretty sure nvidia cards can do SLI with the game. The game may not run as well as it could with two vid cards, but SLI/Crossfire will still give you a performance boost.

Because i have the exact same game others have, if the game was borked, then everybody would be having the issues. The only diffrence between your game and my game is the hardware its running on. The only thing that vid proves is his system is not streaming the textures to max, could be an AV thats scanning the textures when they are loaded and unloaded into memory (av's with on access scanning does that ).

Iv troubleshooted alot of crap in the years, and the common thing regarding games and the main cause,,,, is not the games.

It is supported. The "GPU transcode" setting is what enables you to take advantage of SLI setups.

However I suggest you take a look at the Bethesda RAGE forums or even the Steam forums as there are A METRIC CRAP TON of people having the same issue as me. It's the game, end of.

really?so just because it works with 50 percent of systems out there that automatically means it works? welcome to PC gaming, where a million different computer configurations exist where gamers expect PC games to work with their system. If this was the case, people would only built their PCs to work with one specific game only and pray they work with all the other games... or just buy a console.

Your logic is so backwards I don't even know where do begin. Bugs with the game don't always effect every configuration. A huge swath of users are having issues with this game.

PC games will always have bugs like this on release, but RAGE seems to have issue effecting the majority of users, which is not good at all.

    • Google are hyprocrites for signing this. They have been pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft, only they do it on Android and ChromeOS.
    • In some countries the law has forced Microsoft to display a menu on a fresh install of Windows which asks which web browser you want and it will install that browser. This doesn't add any bloat to Windows. It simply an additional step when setting up a new PC.
    • Chrome is also a first party browser on Android and ChromeOS. And on those systems, Google is pulling the same dirty tactics as Microsoft does on Windows.
    • Unofficial script lets you install unreleased Windows 11 features without Microsoft Account by Sayan Sen Microsoft has been steadily evolving the Windows Insider Program over the years, introducing new channels and testing paths that allow enthusiasts to experience upcoming and yet-to-be-released Windows features (some interesting hidden ones too) before they reach the public. However, one long-standing requirement has remained largely unchanged as users are generally expected to enroll in the Program and with a Microsoft account. That's where a third-party tool called "OfflineInsiderEnroll" can help. OfflineInsiderEnroll is said to be a lightweight script that enables access to Windows Insider Program builds on systems that are not signed in with a Microsoft account. Essentially the tool configures the necessary Insider settings locally and hence allows users to select and switch between available preview channels while continuing to receive builds through the normal Windows Update channel. If you are wondering how it manages to do so, it is made possible by a Registry value known as TestFlags. When configured to"0x20", Windows stops communicating with Microsoft's online Insider enrollment services thus preventing locally configured Insider settings from being overwritten. This allows the script to apply its own channel configuration directly through the Registry as Windows Update does not verify whether a device has been officially enrolled in the Insider Program or not. Previously the utility has had already supported the traditional Insider branches including Dev, Beta, and Release Preview. However following Microsoft’s recent restructuring of its preview channels, the script has now been updated. The latest OfflineInsiderEnroll version, 2.6.6, adds support for the newly introduced Insider channel lineup. As such, users can now choose from several Experimental channels in addition to Beta and Release Preview options. The update also retains tools for refreshing the Insider cache, resetting Insider settings, and completely stopping Insider enrollment when needed. Keep in mind though that will need elevated privileges when running the script (run as Admin). You can get the latest version of OfflineInsiderEnroll from this page on its official GitHub repo.
