What gamer only has a 120 GB SSD and no other hard drive...?

a gamer who only plays 3-4 games on his PC at a time... i have other HDDs, i just refuse to install programs on a separate HDD (completely defeats the purpose of an SSD). 25 gigs is about 3 games...

Just started it up today and wow, it's terrible. The texture loading and popping is insane, and I'm running a i5-750 with a 5850. Not to mention the textures look bad, I'll be waiting for the hi res texture pack before I play it.

I doubt a 25 GB game doesn't already come with insanely high textures already.

It's not always about having enough space. I personally thought that was ridiculous as there's no reason for a little single player shooter, especially one that can be finished in 10 hours or less, to need 20-25GB.

Yea read couple min ago that there was an ATI performance beta driver done last night, but also reading some people say not to use it ( read makes it worse) and wait for others out later today.

Reading the forums and what systems people are posting their setups, and seing more ATI cards with the popins then anything, but could just be a popularity thing on why seing more ATI cards with issues compared to people that arent having problems with Nvidia or using the BF3 drivers

I found that (on AMD) forcing VSync and AA/AF via the Cat panel seems to help until the official driver hits later today. Mine went from the prior video to similar results as this:

"Its an iD game, if you are looking anywhere but straight ahead you're playing it wrong" :)

Doesn't really helps. Only made it worse for me.

      Personally, I think these things are way over rated and way over priced, even at this price. I recently had Frontier Fiber installed with 2 of these devices and although they worked, I switched back to my own router and AP setup and get way better consistency on wireless speed than with Eeros. Wired speed seems to be more consistent also. Will be returning Eeros soon. I had told Frontier I didn't want them to begin with.

      Yes, exactly what I have been thinking. Don't make the context menu simpler, make it smarter to learn what I actually use. And then, give me the ability to pin settings that I rarely use but need forget where they are.

Later today, Geoff Keighley will be bringing the 2026 edition of Summer Game Fest live from the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California. For anyone wanting to tune in online, the Summer Game Fest showcase livestream will be kicking off at 2 PM PT | 5 PM ET | 10 PM BST later today, June 5. The jam-packed show is slated to run for about two hours, with platforms like YouTube (4K at 60FPS), Twitch, Facebook, or X being available for catching it. Like in previous years, separate streams featuring American Sign Language and Descriptive Audio are available on YouTube as well.
