I am at the very last boss battle. Died once trying to beat him last night after about a 10 minute skirmish, looked at the clock, and realized it was 90 minutes later than I usually go to bed.

Cannot wait to get home today and beat the game.

This is no doubt one of the fastest playthroughs for myself in quite some time. Easily the fastest I have beet a First Person Shooter in the past 3 years, if not longer. In fact I do not usually beat most FPS's I play these days.

I just love this damn game. I truly do. And hope others come to enjoy, and even more important appreciate it, as much as I have.

I said earlier in the thread all I wanted from the game was to bring back good old fashioned fun in an FPS and I would be happy. I had no idea just how perfectly they would deliver.

I'm on the moon base right now, in the second part after you do that little outside excursion. Not sure how far through the game that is?  Absolutely loving this game though, have been so pleasantly surprised.

I've deliberately been taking it -very- slowly since Watchdogs was released and was a complete bust.  This game is going to have to keep me going for a while now! At least until TLoU comes out. I also managed to crack my CoD Ghosts disk so that is now unplayable, I know there is a disk replacement thing from Activation for ?12 but they want an original receipt which I don't have anymore. So my list of PS4 games to play is getting thin!

You are not that far from the end. Another two chapters I believe it is.

So I beat it as soon as I get home. When I say I was on the last boss I truly was on the last boss, and what a game. So good.

I seriously have not gone back and replayed a First Person Shooter since Half Life 2. I will go back and play this game. No doubt about it.

Thanks, really needed to know there's a moon base, that's not spoilery at all

Of course there's a moon base, it's Nazis that won the war, but don't spell it out like that! Arrgghh

Soon you will even be posting in German, it's taken over you! Though it will give you good cause to be a grammar Nazi :p

Did you sit there until the credits finished? :P

Played for 115 minutes on Uber difficulty.

Feels nice, well optimized, but nonetheless has texture popping.

Gameplay is good, but it feels like it is my choice to go for stealth or terminator play style.

Also not hard enough.

Worth 60 so far.

Oops sorry   I didn't realise that was spoilery, i'm sure the moon base was in some ads/marketing material because that was out there way before the game was released.

Hahaha it's ok, i wasn't sure it was in there and didn't notice anything in official advertising, but guessed as much considering the lore...watching Iron Sky these again these days to add flavor to the experience

I did on purpose as I saw people saying to do so, and I saw

nothing??? What was I supposed to see?

Also while I get why people are saying they wish it had MP, I am personally incredibly happy it did not. It allowed them to take all their resources and put it towards the SP, hence why it is such a great experience. I cannot help but think if it did include MP, it would not be as good as it is. Perhaps I am wrong, but I think this is a perfect example of why MP is not always necessary, and in fact can detract from the SP as resources would have been used towards it instead.

Agree 100%. They clearly sat down at some point, looked at their resources, skills, deadlines etc and made that decision not to have Multiplayer for a reason.  If the game wasn't that good you could say 'What were they even spending the time on?' (Ahem, watchdogs), but you can clearly see that they spent a lot of effort on the single player game and sacrificing MP made good sense.

There is no reason to have shoehorned Multiplayer especially if it would have come at the expense of anything else.  It is a great game and has some replayability.

Perhaps they might do it for the next game now that they know there is a big appetite for a solid, back-to-basics FPS game like wolfenstein.

You don't see anything actually, but you hear the chopper getting closer and Anya calling out for BJ. It seems pretty obvious they will wind up delaying the bomb just long enough to rescue BJ for the sequel :D

Ahhhhhh okay I did hear the chopper too but just figured it was them flying away as I missed Anya calling out for BJ. That is fantastic. (Y)

Truly hope there is another game done by everyone involved in this game.

Finally beat the game last night. Incredible game, had so much fun.

Loved the final 2 sentence exchange between BJ and Desthshead, very 80s action movie style.

Will start another playthrough tonight.

"EIN HERTZ - EIN WILLE"

I have to conduct a few points more,

Reloading a level after death takes longer than almost instant, around 5 seconds actually.

Meaning, on some check points at Uber difficulty, you will spend more time looking at the loading screen than playing.

I have a feeling the engine is doing something really bad here, like actually reloading everything.

I have 55 hours on Steam for this game. I probably played less than 20.

Why? Game does not quit. Executable stays in memory after I Alt-F4.

    • But building your own.. what? You can't build anything like the Steam Machine yourself. Even trying to get close costs a good deal more. Even just the CPU cooler in their price comparison is as big as the entire Steam Machine. If you want a regular gaming PC, then by all means, build that. If you want a a small console-like PC for the living room that is good for gaming, I'm not sure what else is a better deal. In the GN review, they only mentioned a small form factor Dell, which is like twice the size and hundreds of dollars more expensive.
    • Those are some popular multiplayer games. But hardly "all". Just those that don't work on Linux currently due to specific anti-cheat implementations. I think it's also fair to point out the literally thousands of games that don't work on the PS5. And it's not locked at 1080p. That's the default, which you can change.
    • Ubuntu Livepatch arrives on Arm64 to eliminate system reboots for kernel updates by Paul Hill Canonical has just announced that its Livepatch service now supports computers with Arm64 processors. For those who are not familiar, Livepatch allows users to apply important kernel updates without any service interruption or rebooting. While home users will benefit from this, it’s even more important for critical machines that absolutely should not be going offline at all. The feature is available as part of Ubuntu Core 26 for Arm64 and Ubuntu Core 20 and onwards for AMD64. According to Canonical, this will improve the security of systems that aren’t security-maintained daily or weekly, and it helps organizations work towards Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) compliance. If you are familiar with Ubuntu, you probably know that most packages can be updated without having to restart the system. There is one big exception to this, and that’s the kernel; it typically requires you to reload the system to boot into the new kernel. With Livepatch, Canonical has done something so that you don’t need to restart to begin using the new kernel. Aside from Ubuntu Core 26, users with Arm64 chips running Ubuntu 26.04 LTS can also use Livepatch. If you want to learn more about Livepatch, check out its product page. There, you can also find a button to join Ubuntu Pro (it’s free for several home devices) so that you can enable Livepatch. By linking your computer to Ubuntu Pro, you will also extend the life of your Ubuntu install from five years to ten years. If you are running Ubuntu, let us know in the comments if you have been looking forward to this feature on your ARM-based computer. If you’ve had a compatible AMD64 machine for a while and never used this feature, let us know why in the comments!
