I'm yet to see a true reason why they want to go low profile yet, do you understand why?

Because with the current tyres almost half of the car's suspension is actually in the movement of the tyres because the profile is so high, going to low profile would reduce the amount of movement and could help reduce accidents where cars bottom out as they'd have to run the cars a little higher off the ground or actually put in proper suspension with enough travel to compensate.

Well a good example of why low profiles are better is from Silverstone at the weekend, raikkonens crash was partly caused by the tyres, when he rejoined the track the car was launched in the air, and the way it landed put a large lateral load on the tyres, which caused the car to snap the way it did, low profile tyres would have prevented this or in the very least made it more controllable.

The FIA?s technical delegate has confirmed that no cars are running a Front to Rear Inter-Connected suspension system at the Hockenheimring this weekend.

The sport?s governing body had warned teams ahead of the race it may consider the devices illegal.

Following preliminary scrutineering at the Hockenheimring today FIA technical delegate Jo Bauer said in a statement: ?I can confirm that no car is fitted with a front to rear linked suspension system of any sort.?

Sebastian Vettel said it might not be clear until after the next race whether the removal of FRIC had any effect: ?I hope it brings the field closer to Mercedes but it?s difficult to say.?

?All of the teams have been playing with it to some extent. How much it has an impact? I think it has to be seen this weekend and also probably next week in Hungary. After those two races I think you can have another judgement.?

I can't believe the luck goes against Lewis ... again ... unbelievable! Definitely changes things all over again .. starting 15th on the grid... need another DNF for Rosberg to keep Lewis' chances alive

My opinion counts for shite, but that was Massas fault. Tried to cut Magnusson off. Typical dumb-ass move from a never-was journey-man.

Bit harsh at the end, but yeah, it was entirely his fault. If you wanna call him a dumbass though, you've got a valid reason now...

Felipe Massa said Kevin Magnussen could have avoided their collision on the first lap if the McLaren driver had backed off.

The Williams driver was tipped into a dramatic roll at the first corner after the pair made contact.

?Going into the first corner I was near to Valtteri but had to back off to stop an accident, sadly some others didn?t do the same,? said Massa. ?I am obviously very disappointed.?

?Luckily I am ok but I am not happy,? he added. ?I was in front going into the corner, and so to have another race ended by another driver is not easy.?

?I am doing my best, the team are doing their best, and we just aren?t getting the chances we need.?

Magnussen insisted he did everything he could to avoid the contact.

?I need to see a replay of the accident, but I feel that, if I?d had somewhere to go, then there wouldn?t have been contact with Felipe,? he said. ?I did my best to try and avoid the accident, but there wasn?t much else I could do.?

No penalties were issued for the collision after the stewards ruled Massa had been keeping an eye on team mate Valtteri Bottas before the clash with the McLaren.

?The stewards took into account that this was the first turn of the first lap, cars 77 [bottas], 19 [Massa] and 20 [Magnussen] were entering turn one and it appears [Massa] was concentrating on [bottas],? they said in a statement.

?There was no intentional turning in by [Massa] on [Magnussen],? they added. ?[Massa's] rear right wheels impacted with the left front of [Magnussen].?

I read that one as being Massa's fault, he simply cut across Magnussen and gave him nowhere to go. Surely common sense dictates that aggressive movement across the track in the first corner of a grand prix is a daft thing to do.
