Had both, prefer cats. Plug n' play (don't need to train them to use the potty), self cleaning, and have more personality.

It's a family friendly poll, there is no cheating involved. Vote whatever you like. :)

See, that shows that the content is only loaded when viewing the spoiler. :)

Actually, while <embed> tags aren't loaded when the parent element has the display: none style set the latest versions of IE, Firefox and Chrome/Webkit will still load <img> tags, so using a spoiler won't prevent the images loading.

On topic: Dogs, surprised the voting is so close.

thank you.   i knew that swf example was just not the same as a image example... and a quick search around google can show a lot of examples of spoiler tag still loading images in background.

on topic:

  1. Dogs (38 votes [52.78%])
  2. Catz (34 votes [47.22%])

so little to catch up!

and then overtake for a cat's total world domination!

Firefox still doesn't load it until click, or at least that seems to be the the case with my one anyway. :)

In any case, it doesn't matter as even slow connections are better than 3G and console/handheld internet browser speeds.

Dogs. Simply because I have been around one since birth. I've had a few cats in between but prefer dogs.

Dogs are coming to Sea of Thieves, possibly the newest pet type
      by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe

Sea of Thieves didn't get its own dedicated spotlight during the gamescom Opening Night Live event, but eagle-eyed fans may have noticed a small clip of the game being displayed on the Xbox Game Pass montage that played during it. The clip in question - seen at the 22-second mark on the video above - shows a pirate holding a dog, an animal/pet that hasn't even been announced yet for the adventure title.

It's very likely that dogs were supposed to hit Sea of Thieves as a part of this month's content update, but as its major features were pushed back by Rare to the September update, fans will have to wait a little longer to get their own canine friend.

Sea of Thieves already offers three types of animal companions for players, Monkeys, Parrots, and Cats, which can be bought through the Pirate Emporium using the premium currency Ancient Coins. Multiple dog breeds will probably be available for purchase as pets via the same means when Rare introduces them, unless the studio intends to add them as a regular world mob, which is rather unlikely.

Also during the gamescom show, the Xbox camp revealed the Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition plus a new trailer showcasing the star-studded voice talents of upcoming Xbox console exclusive time loop game Twelve Minutes.

A lot of these I didn't know.  Then again, I normally did not give my dog anything other that dog food and treats.  Every now and then I would spoil him and give him steak bones and such.

Microsoft's new Garage app Fetch! identifies dog breeds, what type of dog you might be
      by Camden Krupala

Have you ever seen or met a dog and were unsure about the breed? It can be more difficult than you would think. If you don't have an idea of what breed it might be, you will probably spend a good amount of time flipping through dog pictures, and even then many breeds can have similar features that makes this even more difficult. To take the guesswork out of this, Microsoft has released a new app, cleverly named Fetch!, which utilizes deep neural networks to identify dogs by breed, as well as characteristics unique to them.

This technology should sound familiar, in fact Fetch! makes use of the same Project Oxford APIs we have seen used by Microsoft Garage apps in the past like Mimicker, as well as websites like Twins or Not and How-Old.net. For those who aren't familiar, Project Oxford provides access to a number of vision, speech, and language APIs that leverage the power of machine learning on a platform that is accessible to smaller companies who may not be able usually afford developing such a program on their own.

From within the app, you can snap photos of dogs and submit them to be analyzed. After producing a match, the app can then provide a history of the dog breed as well as some notable characteristics. You can also scroll through a list of dog breeds if you just want to learn more about them. For some extra fun, you can snap a photo of you or your friend and the app will identify the closest dog breed your physical characteristics match and then share your fun findings with friends.

While the app is more for having fun with your friends guessing dog breeds, it could also be a handy tool for first time dog adopters looking to find the perfect pet. Identifying breeds, characteristics, and whether or not the pet will be right for you and your family are just a couple of the struggles and considerations you may encounter on such a journey.

The app is available today on iOS through the App Store as well as online through What-Dog.net for people on Android or Windows.

BOULDER, Colo. ?  Prosecutors say the reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever left poisoned meatballs at a Gunbarrel park -- sickening three dogs -- is now up to $3,500.

Catherine Olguin, a spokeswoman for the Boulder County District Attorney's Office, told The Daily Camera on Friday afternoon that one resident had donated $1,000 for information in the case, and more donations have poured in since.

Authorities have recovered eight meatballs laced with rat poison from the park at 5150 Buckingham Road since Monday, and veterinarians are monitoring the three dogs.

Animal control specialist Sara Spensieri says she may know more once the Colorado Bureau of Investigation releases the results of a human DNA test it's conducting on two of the meatballs.
