It should have eliminated the AutoRun, and made a new AutoRun (called AutoPatcherXP_Menu.exe)... did that show up?  And the changelog is under the new Documentation folder.  :)

Nope, it didn't create the new autorun. Here was my folder structure:

My Documents

My Documents\Downloads

My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade

My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade\Upgrade Release

My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade\AutoPatcher Files

My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade\AutoPatcher Files\AutoPatcher_XP_4.0

I pointed "My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade\Upgrade Release\Updater.exe" at "My Documents\Downloads\AutoPatcher Upgrade\AutoPatcher Files\AutoPatcher_XP_4.0\AutoPatcher_XP.exe".

@OptiPlex: You use AOL? How could you! (on your avatar)

Great stuff as always FlishFun/Raptor, installed without a single problem and my system is nice and smooth (tho that could be the new cpu/motherboard/ram lol :p)

Keep up the great work :D

Pshh... everyone knows it's the AP that makes systems nice and fast... not new CPU's and RAM... lol

Sup everyone.

I just installed AutoPatcherXP 4.2 Full Release and it worked fine, I had the November installed, but wanted to do Full anyway, it installed 26 applications only.

I will be installing the Dec Update soon on another machine to test it, will give my feedback later.

FlishFun & Raptor have done a great job on the AutoPatcherXP, I'm waiting for the 2000 release

I also wanted to help some of you out there downloading torrent files, I used to use BitTorrent++, but it has been discontinued, they have a new Java BitTorrent Client called Azureus.

Very good program to download Torrent files.

Can be downloaded from here Azureus: Java BitTorrent Client

I hope I didnt break the rules by posting a link.

:D

I don't see how that link would break rules, so it's fine. (Y)

@skelzer - Thanks man! :D

FlishFun,

I posted a link that was posted on another forum at neowin one day and someone went off on me that I was breaking the rules and that I should have read the rules before posting, that he was letting me know before I could get ban from here.

Thats why I said that

It sounds funny but you never know who you gonna run into

I posted this a little bit ago but no one replied. Why do I get this right after executing "AutoPatcherXP_Dec"? What do I need to do differently?

Maybe you got a corrupted download? Might have to try downloading it again, I suggest using the bittorrent link as that worked just fine for me.

I must concure with the rave reviews of AP 4.2 so far.....I installed the Dec update over 4.1 today on my current OS and it works just great! Only took minutes and I am up to speed......NO updates from MS needed! I have yet to do a stand alone install of the FULL 4.2 but I like what I see so far....Great job Flish and Raptor :)

BT Update:

Well not bad for a day or so...

Yes that's a 202MB file downloaded "263" times :)

WOW!

Getting 200 KB/s! Nice server.

LMAO. For a laugh just go to the main page http://www.i-like-pie.com/ and look at the 404 error.

Im glad you like my page. I am not sure how much longer I can keep the link up, but hopfully it will be up untill we can get some more servers holding the AP.

I downloaded it again and it worked perfectly fine even though my original download is the same size and was still able to run. Anywho...it works now and I love it! Keep up the good work, it is greatly appreciated.

    • Ladybird Browser is no longer accepting outside contributions thanks to AI by David Uzondu The Ladybird Browser Project has announced it will no longer accept public pull requests and will limit changes to those made by its maintainers as it works towards its first alpha release. According to Ladybird's creator Andreas Kling, this is "not a change we make lightly," but the rapid shift in AI capabilities forced their hand. Previously, a massive PR implied that the person behind it put a lot of care into the code and is ready to "answer for the consequences." Now with AI, anyone can generate a PR without even understanding the bug fix or feature they want merged. The blog post goes on to say that the team is closing all open public pull requests immediately, and that maintainers will not treat external forks as a review queue for upstream Ladybird. Instead, the team wants outside contributors to focus on reporting bugs and running tests. Kling started Ladybird back in 2019 as LibHTML, a simple HTML viewer for his hobby operating system, SerenityOS, but by September 2022, it had turned into a full-fledged browser project. What sets Ladybird apart from the likes of Google Chrome, Apple Safari, or Mozilla Firefox is its totally independent engine, which does not rely on pre-existing codebases. The project maintains a strict policy against default search engine deals or user data monetization, keeping development funded entirely by donations and sponsorships. Generative AI is forcing open source project maintainers to rethink how they handle public code contributions (and the whole open-source thing in general). One month ago, a leak about the National Health Service (NHS) suggested the organization was planning to take all of its public repositories private ahead of a May 11 deadline, thanks to Mythos (an AI model that Anthropic believes is too dangerous to be released to the public) and its ability to find and write exploits for zero-day vulnerabilities. Thankfully, the Government Digital Service (GDS) issued a counter-report titled "AI, open code and vulnerability risk in the public sector" that stopped the shutdown by pointing out that hiding code does not improve security.

    • I like the show more options. The only problem with it is that it's not always in a consistent spot in the menu. If the copy/paste/cut, happens to show on top, then more option is the last in the menu. But if copy/paste/cut happens to show on the bottom, then more options is before the copy/paste/cut. But I do like the more options because it hides the stuff that I rarely use. But I would like to choose what it is or isn't hiding. That would make it better.
    • I wonder if "put it back the way it was for decades" ever crossed their minds? 🤣
