well, my server is back up :D, but you guys crashed the harddrive, the harddrive got to hot from all the ussage, and died from over heading, i litterally have a burnt spt on the hd :p, everything is backed up daily so its not problem but i am restricting acess to the file till all the heat calms down, maybe in about 2-3 days i will alow people tp download from it again, but i will put the update back online becuase there are not update mirrors atm, while the full is locked acess to it, the update is on :D

i know the MD5 sum was posted earlier...

but i'd really like to see a sum for the executable package, as well as for all the files when unpacked...

i've downloaded several different "versions" of this release, several different hashes.

i'd like to figure out which one is the right one! lol

Here is a sum of the HTTP version, as well as its unpacked contents.

Wow... sorry dude! A casualty of war I guess... :blink:

HTTP has underscores, torrent has space....

That is weird :huh:

Both of my downloads were torrent files, I couldnt get the HTTP links to work :no:

And both files have the underscore on the executable file :yes:

Anyway, I got all my 4 boxes up and running without any problem

I'll invite for the round :beer:

Hmmm... so I guess someone somehow aquired the non-underscored version and got it out on Torrent somewhere... how odd! Oh well, it's easy enough to fix if ya got one. :D

Just wanted to tell the author of the setup program that the program starts at DESKTOP CENTER... this is not very good for me or any other multimonitor user.. =) as I program myself i know there is an option for it so please set it to screen center, not DESKTOP center..

this is not that a big deal, just annoying when you run the update once a month... *grin*

I'm sure that can be fixed. :D

@DigitalFreedom - Will do. (Y)

Update:

Flishfun,

Unfortunately My Hosting is down for the moment, and more than likely indefinitely for the Autopatcher. My Host Globat.com didn't seem to like the "Slashdotting", their server took for a few hours, and I assume headaches it caused for them. Anywho, it's supposed to be a no-no for bit-torrent files so instead of getting banned I'll haveto pull the files! Apparently even after I pulled the BT files, the exe for the December Full and Update was dramatically utilizing about 70% on their server. Sorry :( Well, I guess the good news is that I hosted about 20gigs in 10 hours on release day...and the BitTorrent apparently helped a ton of people. Maybe I'll just help out releasing the monthly updates through BT now...(BT - Now upto 661 Times the file's been snatched/downloaded)

Just wanted to give an update, you can pull all my links now for aj-designs.com...

-AJ

Uh-oh! That means somehow one of the old versions slipped out somewhere! Okay, this is what you do...

Rename:

AutoPatcherXP Menu.exe --> AutoPatcherXP_Menu.exe

AutoPatcher Menu.ico --> AutoPatcher_Menu.ico

AutoPatcher Menu.apm --> AutoPatcher_Menu.apm

And edit the autorun.inf and change:

[autorun]

open=AutoPatcher Menu.exe

icon=AutoPatcher Menu.ico

to

[autorun]

open=AutoPatcher_Menu.exe

icon=AutoPatcher_Menu.ico

That will fix that issue. (Y) I thought we fixed it, but I guess someone somewhere got the first flawed version (that's the only flaw).

EDIT - Looks like AgEnTsMiTh beat me to it... anywho, anyone having this prob, this will fix it. :D

evidently I got this beta version also! However I clicked a http link #1 while downloading it! If that helps! The only question I have are we postivie that these are all the changes needed to fix it or could there be other problems in some of the code files? just wondering :)

Well, basically the problem with pulling that version would be everyone that is sharing on BT would haveto re-download it all over again, for some minor changes. It was just a little bit of bad luck before it was actually released or else I would've updated the BT version...To me the change didn't impact an extremely large amount of people anyway...Hopefully it didn't cause a lot of headaches for the http hosts out there by many people having to re-download the newest changes/build, etc...

HOLY ****, i checked the backed up logs, remember i backed up my site every 3 hours, so this is what i find

My server was up for only 3-5 hours, on the first day, my billing cycle starts on the 10th, look at my banwith usage for that first few hours !!! 87,643.086 MB plus the 20GB from all last night!, so my server has served about at least 90 GB in 4 hours, and then another 20 GB over last night!!!!!, thats 110GB i have served! **** thats huge no wonder my little 60GB harddrive died

Just blame FlishFun :laugh:

Well seems most available mirrors attm are borked (unreliable downloads, and so on), still thanks alot!

can't wait to try this out :) :D

Yeah, sorry... had to take a bunch down... talkin' to a couple people about uploading it to theirs, so we'll see. :)

@DigitalFreedom - Yeah, this little proggie is quite popular, huh? ;) Who'd have ever thought?

@trentm - The file you got wasn't Beta... it was the final release, just that bug was discovered before links were given out and was pulled down and uploaded with a fix. I just have no idea how some people got it. haha

No prob! And it's not 100% perfect, I'd say 99%, a couple of bugs were found that only happen on some PCs, but we found a fix, so I'll say Jan's Release will probably be 99.5% perfect. :D Anywho, Welcome to Neowin, and I'm glad you like it! (Y)

btw, i don't know if its mentioned yet.. couldnt find it anywhere tho.

Please tell people to disable their antivirus products like norton,panda etc. before installinging the xpautopatcher cuz the antivirus program will block the .vbs scripts that are used in the installation. (ive seen it happen at several people here around me)

:)

    • LibreWolf 151.0.3-1 by Razvan Serea LibreWolf is an independent “fork” of Firefox, with the primary goals of privacy security and user freedom. It is the community run successor to LibreFox. LibreWolf is designed to increase protection against tracking and fingerprinting techniques, while also including a few security improvements. This is achieved through our privacy and security oriented settings and patches. LibreWolf also aims to remove all the telemetry, data collection and annoyances, as well as disabling anti-freedom features like DRM. LibreWolf features: Latest Firefox — LibreWolf is compiled directly from the latest build of Firefox Stable. You will have the the latest features, and security updates. Independent Build — LibreWolf uses a build independent of Firefox and has its own settings, profile folder and installation path. As a result, it can be installed alongside Firefox or any other browser. No phoning home — Embedded server links and other calling home functions are removed. In other words, minimal background connections by default. User settings updates Extensions firewall: limit internet access for extensions. Multi-platform (Windows/Linux/Mac/and soon Android) Community-Driven Dark theme (classic and advanced) LibreWolf privacy features: Delete cookies and website data on close. Include only privacy respecting search engines like DuckDuckGo and Searx. Include uBlockOrigin with custom default filter lists, and Tracking Protection in strict mode, to block trackers and ads. Strip tracking elements from URLs, both natively and through uBO. Enable dFPI, also known as Total Cookie Protection. Enable RFP which is part of the Tor Uplift project. RFP is considered the best in class anti-fingerprinting solution, and its goal is to make users look the same and cover as many metrics as possible, in an effort to block fingerprinting techniques. Always display user language as en-US to websites, in order to protect the language used in the browser and in the OS. Disable WebGL, as it is a strong fingerprinting vector. Prevent access to the location services of the OS, and use Mozilla's location API instead of Google's API. Limit ICE candidates generation to a single interface when sharing video or audio during a videoconference. Force DNS and WebRTC inside the proxy, when one is being used. Trim cross-origin referrers, so that they don't include the full URI. Disable link prefetching and speculative connections. Disable disk cache and clear temporary files on close. Disable form autofill. Disable search and form history...and more. LibreWolf 151.0.3-1 changelog: Upstream release, see the Firefox 151.0.3 Release Notes Notable changes: Clears the preference toolkit.winRegisterApplicationRestart, which may otherwise trigger an upstream bug on Windows (librewolf/issues#3056) Download: LibreWolf 64-bit | Portable 64-bit | ~100.0 MB (Open Source) Download: ARM64 | Portable ARM64 Links: LibreWolf Home Page | Addons | Screenshot | Reddit Get alerted to all of our Software updates on Twitter at @NeowinSoftware

    • Gf needed a new Surface and was looking at a Surface Laptop because of the Snapdragon. Seeing as it was a two year old chip she just decided to get a Lenovo Yoga 2 in 1 instead. Personally this Surface Ultra Cassis reminds me a bit of Razor. It would be interesting if it could handle proper gaming and be 17 inch.
    • No idea, frankly, I'm not into minimum requirements gaming, but it would be an interesting test to find out. Also, I just have to point out that it wasn't my intention to downplay the performance of DXVK on Linux or Linux gaming in general (despite my own experience being a bit of a mixed bag). I just thought it would be good to point out that DXVK is not Linux exclusive and that you can benefit from using it even in Windows.
