The Advanced Networking Pack for Windows XP is already included in the AutoPatcher. Q833330 will be included in the Jan Update, as will the Autoplay Repair Wizard, and possibly the Microsoft Baseline Security Analyzer. Unfortunately the Windows Application Compatibility Toolkit 3.0 is too large (about 23 MB) to be included. (Y)

so when are you going to hit this forum hard flish?, i've been bracing myself for days for this forum to kick into high gear again, but everyone seems to think its still the holidays.

am i the only sucker who has to go back to work already?

Hey! I've been back answerin' questions and such... what do you mean? :p lol

sorry flish just getting antsy for something new to download and play with, i've gotten desparate enough to download the 317mb microsoft hardware compatibility testing suite for windows logo certification, i'm so bored at the moment,

so we've all heard that the jan update is just some fixes , microsofts new patches for jan and a couple of ideas from the dec wishlist that hadn't been implemented yet, could you give us a quick list, or even an idea of what those features are going to be, so we don't spend the next couple of weeks going on about stuff we've already mentioned.

other than that, hail to flish and raptor for all the work they're going to put in this year :woot:

well i have to say I'm disappointed in the amount of updates for xp, i guess they're not that concerned about patches as much as fixing the vulnerabilities in the SP2 at the moment.

so what happens when SP2 comes out, will autopatcher be started again with pre sp3 patches or will it fall in to obsolescence like the best intentions before it?

and hows the jan update coming along, not in terms of "where is it" and "i want it now", but in terms of have you had any issues, have you even started it, etc?

Initial testing has begun on the Jan update as far as release dates go, FlishFun can answer that cause I have no idea :)

Once SP2 Final comes out, Autopatcher will then move on to Pre SP3 patches. It will be an ongoing project to make life easier on home users, and us techs

thats the understatement of the century, my boss loves autopatcher, here in NZ we have to pay by the meg for downloading, and you can imagine with the amount of computers that come through the store with no patches installed, it becomes very expensive for us and our customers very fast.

I'm waiting to see if any Microsoft patches are released tomorrow (I thought some were supposed to be)... it will be released after that. I'm still makin' some minor adjustments to the database, etc... don't worry... it will be out soon. :)

microsoft has released all the patches they are "planning to" in this months patch dump, but they are working on a major internet explorer patch, thats been in development since dec, and had about 200 failed builds according to a nz microsoft spokesman, so it can't really be waited on, as it could come anytime in between now and the next patch dump in feb, they have no idea themselves, though they say the second its finished it will be released immediately disregarding the monthly patch schedule.

Well, in that case, expect the Jan update somewhere between now and Monday Morning. :) Remember, I still need to upload it after I finish compilin' it... so that always takes a couple days (plus, I'm not sure who's left up to host!).

    • Exciting! It’s amazing how hearing Japanese can naturally enhance the perceived quality of any experience or product.
    • Your other comment in another article says otherwise, namely "Microsoft veteran wants to replace every single line of C/C++ code with Rust and AI".
    • Sued and... exonerated. Oh, they learned a lesson alright. They learned that anyone who uses the word "antiturst" in conjunction with "Microsoft" is an idiot, even if that person is Judge Thomas Penfield Jackson. That judge ruined the image of the US justice system. Microsoft Edge has a 5.14% market share. Also, Windows is no longer the #1 OS. None of this constitutes a monopoly. Google Chrome, however, has 70.25% share. Also, Google's Android is the #1 OS. Now that's closer to a monopoly.
