Xbox One 'New Experience' Update

Nice, I'll run a update once I get back home and see how it runs, wonder if they've improved the opening speed of the guide now or will soon?  Right after you first start up and hit the home screen if you press left next it can take a good bit of time for the guide to come up.

I think the guide opens slow because it does a small scan of whats on the HD first.  At launch is the only time I've come across it.

Yeah, it's slow at the very start of the system, right at bootup, after that it comes up fast, so it's probably scanning or doing something in the background, probably no way to change that behavior, limitation of the hardware or they might have to delay some scanning or w/e.  I figure it's still checking/updating it's info from XBL.

Another thing that's weird, my community feed is stuck and out of date, none of the newest achievements I've unlocked show up in it and so on, even hitting the refresh button doesn't do anything.  I checked the privacy settings but I don't see anything set to blocked that could stop it from happening.

Do all your newest achievements show up and so on?  I don't see mine in the feed at all, maybe I'm missing something in the privacy settings, I'll take another look again.

I just loaded up Battlefield Hardline for the first time and grabbed a couple of achievements, if i then go to Community i can't see them, but if i refresh they show up. 

I can also see you grabbed 20 on Alien Isolation an hour ago.

Well, that's the weird thing, you see that alien isolation post yet I don't see any of them, I hit the refresh button at the top but nothing.  I'm at a loss in this case.

I wonder if the Windows 10 Xbox app has an effect?  I have my win10 tablet in my room and I hear the notification hit it shortly after I get it on the XB1, I bet if I opened the xbox app on my tablet the feed will show up correctly even though it doesn't on the XB1 itself.

I am playing the game on the one, heh,  anyways, I think I've worked out the issue, it seems the problem is with my location, if I set my location to the US, the feed works fine, but if I set it to my correct location it doesn't, weird.

Yeah, even more weird is if I'm logged into the Greece version of xbox.com the same issues happens.  Seems to be some weird profile problem maybe?

I think it actually started happening while I was still on the old dash, so it might not be an issue with the new one at all and maybe a server side issue of some sort?   There's nothing in my account settings that would get in the way so I don't know what to make of it.  I'll keep an eye out and see if it fixes itself or not.

You must have missed an update or two for it to be that size. Mine was only 300mb or so this morning. They've been updating it pretty much every day this week.

Not at all i have had every update this week, there has been 4 with this last 1, the previous update was only last Friday and that was about 346meg.

I better check that, i wouldn't want to sit down to discover i had to grab a 3GB download which would take me about 8 hours.

Was it pre-downloaded, or was it like a few i've had this week that needed me to initiate them and put the Xbox out of service?

Anybody got Assassin's Creed Unity? Can somebody please try starting the game from the start and see if they duplicate my issue?

Game is basically unplayable on NXOE for me. After starting the game, the cut scenes keep freezing repeatedly (though sound continues). Then when you get to actual gameplay, it too freezes repeatedly but with sound. Eventually it causes the console to hard crash and power off. I've been speaking with Mike Ybarra from the Xbox team on twitter, and their guys are having trouble duplicating it. I've also just reported it to Ubisoft directly too, and I await a response. If I can find some other people with the same symptoms, then the Xbox team might be able to find something in common and perhaps duplicate the issue internally.

For some background, I've owned ACU for nearly a year (got a code for it last Christmas from a friend) and installed it not long after. However I have not yet played it, so the game has sat installed but unplayed since then. I finished Black Flag a couple of weeks ago, so decided to start ACU. This was after I first got NXOE. The game has not been launched on the original Xbox One software.

Not pre downloaded as i have started turning off the Xbox at night now until i work out its power use, i am on a 100mbit though so it didn't affect me.

I just loaded the game, it didn't have a cut scene to play but it went straight into the game when i clicked continue and i could run around and stuff, from my point of view it looked very normal without issues.

I will eventually play it but i need to complete Black Flag first.

Any chance you could start a new session from the beginning? See if it's perhaps just a start of the game thing?  I'm also currently re-installing the game to see if it's somehow perhaps just the old download that got corrupt in the system update, or some such. Thanks

Actually my game starts in the same place as your video so i guess that must be the start?

Yeah I only saw the freezing cut scenes once, each subsequent attempt starts me at that same place, which is right at the start of the playable game.

Thanks for trying. Let's see if my re-install has an effect. 47GB might take a few minutes to download though
