There was something uncanny about how Luke looked and acted. Anyone noticed that too?

Spoiler

Maybe it was because he was computer generated? LOL

Agreed.  I don't like deep fakes, they ALWAYS look just... wrong.  Should have used Sebastian Stan, and I think that moving forward, they probably will.

We all know in a couple of years they are going to do another movie with a mix of all the original trilogy characters computer generated and live actors. I can't wait and it will be awesome or really bad.

Season 2 was kinda meh ... but that finale was worth it.

Yes the ending was good but that doesn't make up for a meh season. All that tells me is for season 3 is i'll have to suffer though 7 crap episodes for a good episode 8.

Opinions vary. Personally, I found it an excellent season. Much stronger than season 1.

All they did MOST of the time, was to go back to locations from season 1 and join back up with characters from season 1. You would think by watching seasons 1&  2 that the galaxy was made up of around 2 planets. Besides action and combat there was very little substance.

Uh, most of the time?  They did that TWICE... That was it.... They also introduced NEW characters (to the show) as well, such as Ahsoka, Bo Katan and Boba Fett.  This isn't Star Trek, with a different "alien of the week" every episode and so on.  It's a specific story set in a set region of the SW galaxy, the Outer Rim.  Of course we're going to see certain characters and locations more than once, with quite logical reasons to DO so, too.

The SW galaxy seems larger in the Mandalorian than it did the last trilogy

Don't get me wrong, the ending was great, whole season IMO is a step down from s1 but s1 is new and fresh so it has more of a impact.   Season 2 is really just one long setup for the final episode and the start of s3 and the new shows.

Most of all though, for me...

Spoiler

Who watched Luke tearing into the dark troopers and wasn't mad at the sequel trilogy for using him in such a ###### poor way?   In fact I'm even more mad that we never got live action Luke post RoTJ flexing his Jedi master abilities.  It sounds like we're going to see more of him though,  in s3 and I guess s4 of Mando, but maybe in some other shows?   I don't get why they don't give us a show with him fully?   Look what the Clone Wars animated series did for Anakin, IMO, compared to the movies.

I'm just a bit annoyed with the sequel trilogy as a whole.

As an aside, how long does anyone think we need to use the spoiler tags for to discuss series 2?

Anyway, I just caught up with episodes 5 - 8 today, and they were awesome! But...

Spoiler

What does this mean for The Mandalorian? Whether Pedro liked it or not, the story was about him and baby Yo- I mean, Grogu. Now that Grogu has gone with Luke, I was thinking that when they mentioned The Book of Boba Fett that would be season 3, but they have already confirmed that it is a separate entry in the saga...so what will we get with Season 3? I guess he still has to sort out things with Bo-Katan...

I thought Luke showing up was incredible. And for the short screen time I thought it was just as well done as in the films when we see a young Leia. But I agree, they would be foolish not to use Sebastien Stan if they bring Luke back.

From a few posts i've seen it sounds like we're not done with Grogu in the show or maybe even future ones.   He might be used as the character that ties the different shows together for example? Guess we'll find out.

They are going to milk the merchandise of Grogu till the cows come home.

Shouldn't surprise anyone, it is Disney after all. They're pumping out all this SW stuff, like all the Marvel shows to, I'm kind of starting to lose interest.

Heck, I don't care for any of the upcoming Marvel TV shows.

FINALLY got to finish Season 2.

First off, the motto of this entire show is "Fan Service". If there's something fans have wanted to see, or see happen, they're putting it in. And I freakin' love it.

Next, each episode feels "slow". It's not a Marvel superhero show, or Jason Bourne action flick... and I'm perfectly fine with that. I'm digging the vibe of the slow pace.

As for the feeling that every episode led up to the finale... I grew up watching movies like Hawk the Slayer and The Magnificent Seven (and Seven Samurai once I learned it was the original), plus reading D&D books. So the concept of the hero going around making friends through his adventures, and then calling on them in his time of need to go on an adventure with him really takes me back. I was digging the hell out of that premise. Top that with bringing back the armor's owner so we can finally see how much ass he can kick was great.

Lastly... HOLY *(&# that finale episode!! I am so totally down for whatever they give us next. Seriously, they've got me for the long haul with The Mandalorian, and whatever spin-offs they want to throw at me. I'm completely sold on their commitment to keeping Star Wars cool.

    • Password Safe 3.72.0 by Razvan Serea Password Safe is a password database utility. Like many other such products, commercial and otherwise, it stores your passwords in an encrypted file, allowing you to remember only one password (the "safe combination"), instead of all the username/password combinations that you use. Once stored, your user names and passwords are just a few clicks away. Using Password Safe you can organize your passwords using your own customizable references—for example, by user ID, category, web site, or location. You can choose to store all your passwords in a single encrypted master password list (an encrypted password database), or use multiple databases to further organize your passwords (work and home, for example). And with its intuitive interface you will be up and running in minutes. PasswordSafe was originally designed by the renowned security technologist Bruce Schneier and released as a free utility application. Password Safe 3.72.0 changelog: Fixed bugs Improved font scale handling - should resolve font size issues on high resolution displays. GH1749 In the Master Password Setup window, "Show Master Password" is no longer truncated on some displays. GH1092, SF1595 Size and position of main window is now correctly restored on scaled displays. SF1630 Keep password expiry date when both password and password expiry are changed; don't clear a non-recurring expiry when the password's changed. SF1628 Custom values can now be copied to the clipboard in read-only mode via Ctrl-C and right-click->Copy Value. New features GH1196 Dark display mode support: Password Safe now supports the system display mode, as well as setting the mode directly via Manage->Options->Display->Display Mode. This change also updates the general "look & feel" of the app to the current Windows theme. Known limitations: The Date picker and keyboard shortcut controls do not switch to dark theme The Customize Toolbar dialog does not switch to dark theme Custom Field support has been added to the more advanced features: Filters XML and Text import and export Comparison, Sync and Merge databases SF938 Custom field values may now be selected by name and copied via a "Copy Custom Field Value..." submenu in the entry context popup menu. That G6 has 7.1, Dolby, fully working SPDIF and since it's a USB device it's outside of my rig so I don't have to worry about EMF distortion. Looks like for now this is a pass for me as I think I have better hardware....
