Well I have to say PC, but some recent comments around neowin have made me consider  why spend $1500+ on a top of the line pc when $500 for a new console $500 for the newest titles $500 for a good tv ... :s

But still I guess I'll always be a PC gamer :p

You can't find AOE or Worms on consoles :p ( can you :s ? ) plus strategy games are ugly to play with a controller...

I would like to say a word about consoles future

current consoles are going to be desktop computers in the future ... apart what you see, they are gretting mouse, keyboard and hdd, sooner or later you will be able to open it and replace some parts not mentioning that there will be console that will allow to run other consoles games ... it will become PC

it's simple, PC is the best, it allows much more than normal console can give you

I once said I will stick with PC, but lately I found that I could buy a console for 1 game, FF VII remake

Having a PC makes me a PC Gamer. When I didn't have the PC I was very much into Consoles.

I am much more into PC Gaming as you can get games with alot more depth, and aslong as you have a modem the game is playable Online (It's less hassle). So therefore I will stick to PC Gaming.

I haven't touched a console in about 6 months. I think the new consoles will be excellent but I won't be buying one in a hurry, I'd rather spend the money on upgrading my PC.

PC for RTS (WC3 / RoN) / FPS (BF series / Halflife series) / MMORPG (EVE online / GW) / Online multiplayer (Gunbound / Darkspace).

You can't play these without a mouse and keyboard.

Console for RPGs / Racing. Nothing matches the sheer variety of FF / Suikoden games out there.

Ya know.... i feel the whole console/PC tghing is well over rated .. In this day in age.. most gamers who own a pc... own a console as well .. .. each system has there own strength and weaknesses .. each one has games that are better on on then another. .

I just like to appriciate pc's and consoles both @ the same time!

100% PC. Never owned a console or a handheld. I've played games since 1979.

My first PC was Commodore VIC-20 (1982) then it was Commodore C-64 and finally in 1992 I became a "modern PC" owner when I got myself a Intel 486DX 50MHz setup. Before buying my own PC I had played with all kinds of PCs starting from Intel's 186. Oh... the old times :)

Until pretty recently I played everything on my pc because console-wise all I had was a playstation and a sega genesis. A week or so ago a friend was selling an xbox with a bunch of games and I bought it. Now that I have the xbox that is where I do all my gaming (unless some friends come over with their computers). In fact, I don't have any computer games installed right now.

I simply prefer computer games and the controls. It seems to have so much more depth, etc.

As for the cost of the PC, don't forget that even cheap PCs can be used to play games. You don't neccessarily need to play all the biggest and latest ones. But then again, a PC can offer so much more than games, such as word processing, Internet, etc.

I used to be a PC gamer, and upgraded my system every 1.5 years and bought a new video card a minimum of 8 months (4 cards total). Things got too costly for me, so I decided to make the switch to console gaming. I like a console because you don't have to worry about a framerate drop, or your hardware being too outdated to play a game on. I was very satisfied with the Dreamcast and Xbox in terms of graphics compared to PC gaming at that time. I bought a Xbox 360, and that'll hold me over for a while.

The way I see it, spend 400 on a console that has split screen multiplayer, surround sound, and the "comfort factor" (being able to sit on a couch and play) every 4 years compared to before where I spent 100-300 on cards every 8 months, plus system upgrades. It's cheaper

Through my childhood and early teenage years, I was all console, never owned a computer.

I switched to PC last year though. I got it built summer 2004 and for a while I felt like I was dominant over the consoles. But with the 360 out, I don't feel so dominant anymore.

I'll be rebuilding next year though.

    • I disagree here sorry. The majority of their customers are corporations who are locked in to their eco system and have no choice. Private individuals don't contribute that much to their income.

    • When will the Photos app be updated to remember the window size and position when reopened? They addressed this issue in a 2024 version of the app (though I can't recall the build number). Unfortunately, after that specific version, the problem persists! Please prioritise this fix in your K2 schedule. Additionally, the Snipping Tool has lost the ability to capture the Windows Taskbar starting from the 2024 version!
    • Same, never saw it on Android or iOS. Guess only some people got it *shrugs*
