Ok, here's a new one.........I downloaded this, and this has to be the first false positive

that I've received from my antivirus software (NOD32).

it says "probably unknown NewHeur_PE virus"..........

tried downloading from the link and from softpedia, both say the same thing.

Probably due to Heuristic behavior (words or phrases that are attibuted to files that contain viruses or files with odd filetypes or multiple dots ie "files.doc.zip"). A lot of AV's use this type of scanning. If you know its virus free and you trust the source, rock on.

For those of you wondering WHY it has a PRE-SP2 Identifier.. here is the logic behind it:

The File itself is a Pre-SP2 Patch, which means it gets installed on OS's Prior to SP2. You wouldn't be going to install The Final SP2 on a os already with the Final SP2 hence Pre-SP2. ;)

So this means its Pre-SP2 that can be installed on a GOLD XP or a XP with SP1 already installed.

I think this about CLEARS this up on why it says Pre-SP2.

Autostreamer is doing the correct thing its not a bug. (Y)

Aaahh. Of Course. That makes sense. Thanks xStainDx.

No what would be really awesome is if this program supported Office XP/2003 because it is pretty much the same method as slipstreaming XP.

Hey gang,

Tried AutoStreramer for the first time last night after downloading SP2 and it worked like a charm. Think it took about 5min. tops to complete the whole process. Burned it to a CD, rebooted, installed my new BIOS update, restarted and then booted from the CD and did a clean install. Gonna pick up where I left off last night when I get home from work and finish installing the drivers and getting it back up to speed...just in time before my copy of DOOM 3 arrives!!!! Whoo-hoo!! :D

Anyway, Raptor & whomever else that put together AutoStreamer...great job guys!! Worked like a charm and is another fine edition to my "must-have progs" toolkit.

Later.

Used AutoStreamer and did a clean install last night. Worked perfectly. For those having problems with it, I found one just needs a little patience using it. It doesn't give a lot of feeback in terms of whether or not it's working, so just wait a bit.

This clean install with SP2 slipstream rocks. I loaded SP2 before the clean install and it's faster with a clean install even though my previous install was only 6 months old, I defragged and cleaned my registry, etc on a regular basis. Any clean install is going to be faster, but this is much faster!

Just my 2 cents.

I have XP Home Edition (Upgrade) and usually when I re-install, I have to insert my copy of Windows 2000 to confirm that I have a full version of Windows.

However, I used AutoStreamer to slip in SP2 and did a clean install this evening and it never asked me to insert a previous Windows disc....everything went smoothly...no problems, and the speed difference is astonishing.

(like saying "Slipstreamed by AutoPatcher" on the CD or on an OS file)

Well for one thing the program is called AutoSTREAMER, and no it doesn't do anything like that.

I'm glad that everyone is enjoying the program. I came up with the idea and asked him if he had time to create it for my project. I helped him with some of the aspects of it but did no programming. Just offered suggestions on how it should work, researched a few things, beta tested it, and helped with the comments in the dialouge boxes, etc. I can't wait until he gets back from vacation to see how many people he has helped with this.

I noticed the speed difference during the clean install as well.? Probably helps that SP2 has updated drivers to help it detect the most common hardware (ATI, Intel, etc.)

NM2K24?:cool:l:

Yeah, it is so much faster I knew it was not my imagination. Running a P4 2.6C (not celeron, 800 MHz bus) in a RAID 0. XP has supported hyperthreading, but whatever they did, it made it more hyper!

A few spec are below for reference.

ABIT IC7-MAX3, BIOS 1.6

P4 2.6C Retail, Malaysia, Week 26

Zalman 7000 ALCU

Corsair Twin 2X256 MB PC3200

2-80GB SATA Seagate Barracudas, 7200.7, RAID 0 on ICH5R

1-40GB Quantum Fireball AS, 7200, IDE 1 storage drive

Plextor PX-780A Combo 8X DVD Burner/40X CD Burner, IDE 2 Master

EPO 52X CD-ROM, IDE 2, Slave

Antec True Power 430

Antec Performance Plus 1080AMG, 5 fans

22? Flat Iiyama Vision Master Pro 510 CRT

Belkin 1000VA-UNV UPS

weird. i downloaded this program and made a slipstream of sp2.....when it finished, it gave me an error of Permission Denied.....error 70 i think.....but the ISO was there. i burned it and its bootable.....im formating my test box with it to see if it actually works.

the program is great, i might add. lets hope they fix the bugs soon.

The program seems to work flawlessly. The whole process only took about 7 mins. What I need to know is if I have a Slipstreamed SP1 CD do I use it to make a SP2 CD or do I just use my Original XP CD and Slipstream it?

Thanks,

I used a slipstreamed SP1a CD but I'm sure you could use either as SP2 contains all the updates included with SP1a.

It also adds new cleaners (including a DNS cache cleaner, Claude Code, and Visual Studio Code forks), support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles, new deep scan options for developer directories like node_modules and venv, and safer, faster file shredding. All Platforms Added cleaners for Claude Code, DNS cache, and many Visual Studio Code forks. Added support for multiple Chrome and Edge profiles. Chrome can now clean downloaded AI models. Deep Scan can optionally remove venv, __pycache__, node_modules, and .angular directories. Deep Scan is faster by skipping directories on the keep list. • DriversCloud 12.1.6 by Razvan Serea With DriversCloud (formerly My-Config.com), you can explore your computer easily, safely and free. The application quickly scans your PC and identifies the hardware and software components. DriversCloud then establishes a list of the different drivers compatible with your OS and hardware. Download the drivers needed for the proper functioning of your computer. To detect your drivers, DriversCloud also displays a detailed summary of your hardware and software configuration, analyzes your BSOD, monitors in real-time your PC voltages and temperatures and lets you share your configuration online. Once the hardware components have been detected, you will be able to obtain with just a few clicks the latest drivers corresponding to the identified hardware. You can record your configuration on the site for free, and can get the corresponding URL to post the configuration to technical forums, e-mail and social networks. You can also download the detection result (the configuration) as a PDF file. To protect the user's privacy and data confidentiality, a 4-level confidentiality system was created that filters the XML marks and gives control to the user. The default level can be modified in the preferences. Using the maximum level will prevent the user from publishing his configuration and generating a corresponding PDF file. In non-connected mode, each XML configuration is stored on the server for one day (for practical reasons). However, you are given the opportunity to manually delete it. Created in 2004, and continually improved, My-Config.com has established itself on the web as a free service to PC users running Windows and Linux operating systems. The service is designed to work with the most common Internet browsers (Edge, Firefox, Chrome, Safari).
