But they already killed the polar bear / dog before... so he, made another in his head.

He also did that thing with the bird when he got ****ed because the step dad wouldn't pay attention. But what I don't get is someone said everything can be explained scientifically.... soo... how does a kid with special powers get explained?

The bear isnt materializing. A cargo plane with zoo animals crashed on the island before

I don't know about other places but the ABC broadcast here seems to finish shows 2 mins past the hour now.

actually most of the networks are beginning to do that to **** over Tivo and people who record shows without commericals/ect....

Is this show really as good as people say it is? I listen to a local radio station here in Philadelphia (Y100) on my way to class every thursday morning and they talk about it like its the second coming of Jesus.

I mean the way the talk about it and how bizare the show is and how its like a puzzle interests me, but I don't know if it is worth downloading the season from the beginning or not.

Can someone give me some reason to?

btw I am a 24 fanatic!..so I'm looking for another decent show for me to get hooked on.

Can someone give me some reason to?

It's better for you to actually watch an episode before passing judgement.

Or at least read the 7 pages of this thread, and visit http://www.lost-tv.com/ for further discussion.

Form your own opinions of the show.

imo, it's a great show.

I cant rememeber, but I think I actually saw the 2nd episode awhile back, but I'm not sure. I think I then forgot about it a week later. I think Ill download the first couple episodes and go from that. Thanks.

Best stinkin show on TV in years...

*SPOILERS*

My theory I had a couple of weeks is looking true. I think the island brings your greatest fears/hopes to life. The Polar Bears all come from the kid and his fascination withthe comic book. I am also wondering if Charlie wasn't inadvertantly responsible for Claires kidnapping. His greatest fear became something hurting her, and it wound up happening. I think the people that all went crazy (that the french woman spoke about) were manifest from the french woman's crazy personality. And Locke was able to manifest fears into other people as well. I am wondering what exactly he saw in the jungle in the first couple of episodes. He looked up at somethign huge and just smiled. I think he was able to actually confront his fears and wasn't consumed by them. That's why he can walk and hunt liek he can. Locke is the man.

Yeah- quite insightful point you make there dude. It's a lot about confronting fears, getting over prejudices etc - this certainly comes out in the most recent one. I can't wait to see how it all plays out - i'm loving this show!

ps - for future spoilers, use the neowin spoiler tags as thus :

gives

Well that's what I figured. So what is kennyout talking about? Bear = dog???

Yea, that's what I think too. The whole island is about confronting your fears, hence why they go through each characters lives so we can get idea of what those fears might be.

So is that what the metal hatch thing is, that Lock and whats-his-face have found? couldi t be the cargo plane?

585354396

Probably not. Maggie Grace said that the "hatch" is a VERY interesting storyline that will keep us glued for more. Whatever is behind that hatch, its a LOT more interesting than just what I alluded to, according to her.

Also, keep in mind that the producers of the show have said everything happening to the survivors can be grounded, more or less, in real life science. They know they obviously would be no survivors if a plane were to actually crash like that, but things like the monster and Ethan have a legitimate reason for existing.

I think the cargo plane explanation, while plausible, is too simplistic, and well, too dull.

TONIGHTS EP IS GONNA ROCK!

--Ethan is back to get Claire and we find out why he took her.

--We get Flashbacks of Charlie's old life and his previous love interest.

--Locke is going to be a badass mofo tonight as he will have to play a big part in defending the Losters from the evil Ethan Rom. (an anagram for "other man")

And if thats not enough info, I have the episode spoiled for you guys already...but not quite all the details, which are kept pretty damn well hushed up by the producers. Not all of the surprises tonight are kept in the little box below!

Those ABC promos are going on and on about somebody getting all killed on ?Lost? tonight, but here?s the real scoop:

TWO die tonight! ?And one of the deaths,? we are told by a highly reliable source, ?is pretty frigging wicked.?

But none of the regulars die tonight.

We hear that one of the deaths belongs to Steve (of ?Steve & Scott? fame). The other death is unspecified, but were I a betting man I?d bet on Claire?s kidnapper, Ethan Rom.

Because Ethan Rom, the other man, knows too much. And because he knows too much, the creators want him dead.

Finally! Been 3 weeks since last new episode, and 2 weeks without a new one, oh man, however did I live, lol. I can't wait for tonight, actually, since I work every Wednesday, I'll be viewing it after 10pm cst, still can't wait though.

:joins kennyout in dancing: :jump:

I wish all shows would just do what 24 has done and show the whole series in one long run

585439921

thing is that is what they used to do, with maybe 1-2 reruns during the actual season...now they split it up....half seasons with like 12 reruns in a row...ect...

its quite stupid

    • Waymo recalls self-driving software after cars enter closed freeway work zones by Paul Hill Waymo, the self-driving car maker owned by Alphabet – the parent company of Google –, has recalled some of its fifth-generation Automated Driving Systems (ADS). It did so after some of its cars drove through closed construction zones. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the affected vehicles were capable of driving through a closed freeway construction zone and continuing to drive at speed. The listing on the NHTSA website says that Waymo is currently developing a solution to fix this issue, but in the meantime, freeway driving is being restricted. Waymo will update its ADS software so that vehicles can detect when they can avoid entering construction zones. According to the Safety Recall Report, on April 20, 2026, Waymo’s Field Safety Committee began meetings reviewing an event from April 11, 2026, and five events from April 19, 2026, where Waymo’s autonomous vehicles didn’t recognize and drove past ramp closure signs into the pre-planned freeway construction zones. This took place in Phoenix, Arizona. Separately, on May 18, 2026, seven Waymo vehicles entered freeway lanes with active construction in the San Francisco Bay Area by driving between cones that were placed to show the lane was closed. On the back of both of these events, Waymo restricted freeway driving until it could address the issue. In June, Waymo’s Safety Board reviewed the issue and additional information related to ADS performances around construction zones; then, as a result, it decided to conduct a recall. This development is not good for Waymo as it adds to a growing list of technical hiccups its cars have experienced. Ultimately, it will lead to more scrutiny from lawmakers around the world who will be more cautious about letting autonomous vehicles on their roads without tighter regulation. For readers in areas where Waymo operates, does this news make you more wary about stepping into one of these vehicles?
