Didn't experience this myself, I've seen people posting their achievements already but not to get into a group, just to boast.

It does make some sense, I wouldn't want a player that is inexperienced when we (the group) require experience in order to do the dungeon/raid without issues.

Granted even the dumbest player in WoW can get any achievement, it's still an indicator of your experience in the game.

I've recently resubed and all I see is people LFM'ing demanding that players link them achievements for that instance before they get accepted. What the heck is that about?

I thought achievements were supposed to be a "fun side activity" and not some stupid requirement before instancing.

Whist I've not really tried to group since resubbing it seems a bit catch 22 to require the achievement, yet how do you get the achievement if no group will take you?

Fake link the achievement. If you look around, you can find out the /script command to generate an achievement link. All you do is edit the ID (can be found on wowhead), your char name, and date you got it.

Alright I've just learnt blacksmithing and I can now make these swords. Look at the auction price, 20 gold?!

That can't be right, can it? I've put up one for auction at 20g just to see whether it sells, but I hugely doubt it.

If you get 20g for it consider yourself lucky. :) WoWHead says it's worth about a silver. http://www.wowhead.com/?item=2847

I'll keep the 20g auction going though just for luls. :p

AH can provided some quality entertainment.

Such as my listing of the Avool's Sword of Jin for a cheap sum of 1100 (cheap compared to what is was). I hoenstly did not think it would sell due to the ease of heroic farming and Naxx pugs. It sold. Guy turned around put it up for 2600 and 5 other Avool's appeared on AH undercutting him down to 1000 even. lol.

I'm betting that it will turn out to be fake.

I know I quoted you before but you are horribly wrong. :D

* Guild Achievements and Guild Leveling will be added to the game.

* Players will level by following the "Path of the Titans"

* Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep will be revamped and heroic versions will be added

* Rated Battlegrounds will be added to the game.

* Archeology will be a new profession

Level Cap

The level cap in the next expansion will be slightly lower than expected this time around; 85.

New Classes

Cataclysm doesn't introduce any new classes to the game. Instead, Blizzard have offered more race and classes combinations to players. The Some of these have alreadly been datamined from the 3.2.2 Test Realms. The An Injured Colleague quest and it's new Night Elf counter-part help to introduce the lore for these new race and class combinations, so we can probably expect to see more of these for some of the less traditional ones.

* Human Hunter

* Orc Mage

* Night Elf Mage

* Dwarf Mage

* Blood Elf Warrior

* Dwarf Shaman

* Undead Hunter

* Tauren Paladin

* Tauren Priest

* Gnome Priest

* Troll Druid

New Races

The events of the cataclysm has caused two new races to seek new allies. The Goblins for the Horde and the Worgen for the Alliance.

Goblins

Deathwing once again sought the services of the goblins, as slaves. Unable to refuse such an offer, the goblins were enslaved by him. A large group have resisted however. With their previous homes devastated by the cataclysm, they escaping to an island off the coast of The Barrens. As they strive to recover, they come across an Orc captured on an Alliance ship and rescue him. The Orc turns out to be none other than Thrall himself, and in return offers the Goblins a place within the Horde. These events are carried out in a quest line, allowing players to experience first-hand the reasons behind the Goblins' shift from neutrality.

Worgen

The cataclysm has cracked open the Greymane Wall, finally revealing what has happened to the kingdom of Gilneas and its citizens. With the Worgen curse taken hold, they have found a partial cure, allowing thme to retain their Human minds even when transformed. Venturing forth from Gilneas and seeking help from the Alliance, they have decided to join them, to combat the new threats of Cataclysm.

ew Content

Cataclysm will be the first expansion not to introduce a new continent, instead making use of previously unreleased zones and revamping existing ones.

Classic Azeroth Revamp

A cataclysmic event caused by Deathwing and Azshara will change the face of Azeroth as we know it. Most of the new content for Cataclysm will take the form of a revamped Azeroth, taking advantage of newer additions to WoW such as phasing and daily quests. Most of the quests and mobs in the classic zones will also be redesigned to make leveling less painful. With the revamp, a greater narritive and sense progression will be offered to players. Some zones and dungeons will change drastically to fit this, e.g.,

* The Barrens will be split into two separate zones of two different level bands.

* Azshara will become a low level (~10-20) zone.

* Some of the zones like the Thousand Needles will be flooded.

* Durotar is wrecked and apparently Orgrimmar could be destroyed. A new Orc city is rebuilt over the course of the expansion.

* Gnomeregan will be part of the expansion as well and gnomes might be able to reclaim their capital. (The last part is still unconfirmed)

* Wailing Caverns will be become a lush tropical area as a result of the druid's magic.

* The Blackrock Spire will erupt and a new version of Blackrock Mountains will be available, apparently Ragnaros will be back too.

In the aftermath of the cataclysm, and the new conflicts on the horizon relief efforts can be found in many zones and new open PvP areas similar to Lake Wintergrasp.

Flying in Azeroth

Part of the redesign of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor is the introduction of flying to the two continents, allowing access to many new areas and quicker travelling across the large continents.

Classic Dungeon Revamp

Redesigning Onyxia's Lair in Patch 3.2.2 was just the first step. As most of the leveling will take place in revamped areas of Azeroth, so too will the dungeons, allowing players to use them to level from 80 to 85.

Unreleased Zones & Dungeons

With the addition of flying mounts to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms and the redesign of many zones, most of the previously unreachable or incomplete zones will now be made available to players. This is where most of the new content from 80 to 85 will take place. Some of these are,

* Hyjal (present)

* Gilneas - The Worgen starting Zone.

* Uldum

It is unclear if the old Goblin locations such as Kezan and Undermine will be included in Cataclyms with the revelation of the goblins' plight, but several new islands have also been risen from the seas by the events of Cataclysm, some on the backs of giant sea turtles and whales, with the addition of several underwater zones.

World of Warcraft Cataclysm now Official

? on: August 21, 2009, 08:06:11 pm ?

World of Warcraft Cataclysm is now CONFIRMED

Additions from my leak

* Guild Achievements and Guild Leveling will be added to the game.

* Players will level by following the "Path of the Titans"

* Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep will be revamped and heroic versions will be added

* Rated Battlegrounds will be added to the game.

* Archeology will be a new profession

Everything else below is confirmed Wink

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm

World of Warcraft: Cataclysm is the next expansion for World of Warcraft. Dark and forgotten threats that have long stayed out of sight have finally arrived on our shores, unleashing a cataclysmic event upon Azeroth and now preparing more nefarius plans to take it back.

Level Cap

The level cap in the next expansion will be slightly lower than expected this time around; 85.

This suggests Blizzard wants more room for expansions before hitting the level 100 cap. With less leveling to do (along with the revamped leveling listed below likely to increase the speed and ease of leveling), leveling a new race remains appealing for new and existing players alike.

Leveling from 80-85 should be a much bigger deal, the idea is to make sure that gaining a level really means something and doesn't make you feel like you just have 4 more levels to go.

With the Worgen curse taken hold, they have found a partial cure, allowing thme to retain their Human minds even when transformed. Venturing forth from Gilneas and seeking help from the Alliance, they have decided to join them, to combat the new threats of Cataclysm.

Gilneas will make extensive use of the phasing system (much like the Death Knight starting area), to show what happened while the kingdom was cut off from the rest of the world and lead up to present day.

Worgens will have two forms, a Worgen form and a Human form. Players will be able to customise the look of both forms.

New Content

Cataclysm will be the first expansion not to introduce a new continent, instead making use of previously unreleased zones and revamping existing ones.

Characters and Events

Deathwing

Deathwing the Destroyer / Neltharion the Earth-Warder will play a major role in Cataclysm. Having been driven mad by Old God whisperings and turning against his own kind only to be fail in his attempts, Deathwing has sunk into the shadows. While the Horde and the Alliance were busy fighting back the Burning Legion only to then be beset with the Scourge, he has been lurking and moving things into place. After Lady Sinestra's failed attempts to create a Twilight Dragonflight, he again retreated to Grim Batol and succeeded where she failed. With his results seen in the Obsidian Sanctum, he has finally created the supreme Dragonflight he sought and plans to unleash it upon the world. But what of the Old Gods' sway over him?

Azshara

Queen Azshara will also play a major part in Cataclysm. Unknown to many mortal races, long forgotten by others, and believe to be dead by her own kind, she has not been dormant in depths of the Maelstrom. Having those around her transformed by the Old Gods into Naga after her failure in the War of the Ancients, she has become far more powerful and a greater threat than she once was. Not content with just Nazjatar and the depths of the sea, Azshara seeks to reclaim power and reign once again. With the true plan behind Lady Vashj's support of Illidan remaining a mystery we do not know what hand Azshara has yet played. The big question remains, is she now serving her "saviors", the Old Gods?

The Cataclysm

I'm still not sure who is the true end boss of Cataclysm is, but the cataclysm appears to have been caused by attempts to incantation to summon extremely powerful beings using an ancient incantation by Deathwing and Azshara. They're both very powerful, but the cataclysm itself suggests something more powerful is behind it, perhaps their shared past of Old God influence?

The Guardian of Tirisfal

Malfurion Stormrage will be returning to Azeroth to aid in the creation of the new Guardian of Tirisfal - Thrall! Med'an's role in these events is currently unknown.

The New (New) Horde

Thrall will hand over the leadership of the Horde to Garrosh Hellscream, while he serves as a coordinator for both the Horde and Alliance forces in and effort to combat the new threat of the Naga and Black Dragonflight. Without Thrall to keep Garrosh in check, he declares open war on the Alliance. In the political upheaval Cairne Bloodhoof is implicated as a traitor to the Horde and murdered by Garrosh. Cairne's son Baine takes over as the new Tauren chieftan. This could explain why Baine was removed from the game in Patch 3.2.2, you can find more information about this in Ahmo Thunderhorn - replacement for Baine Bloodhoof?

...

So in short. They were right about everything!

Well I had a 50/50 chance. Though, not everything was true:

I read somewhere (trying to find it again) that Worgen can choose to be either Human or Worgen OOC and IC they will always be Worgen.

I'll do my best to find it, but there's a **** ton of info floating around atm.

This message is being sent to confirm that all credit card information has been removed from the World of Warcraft account *****, effectively cancelling its recurring subscription as of August 18, 2009 8:45 PM UTC

after 3yrs I am done

oh you'll be back.. no one ever truly quits an MMO they've invested a decent amount of time in :p I actually think it's healthy to quit every so often for a few months, stops you getting bored of the game and by that time new content is out. I tend to do this every 6 months or so :p

They can choose the looks of both.

In combat, they're always worgen.

Out of combat, you can choose between human or worgen. I think it's an amazing element.. and I look forward to being a worgen. :)

I've really wanted to be able to use flying mounts and flight form in the old world and Blizzard have done it. I have to say this expansion has me really excited the way they are going back and changing the old world this is just really amazing to me I like the way they are recycling the old content. Also the new classes are great and the Battleground ratings. I can't wait to play it.

As a Druid I'm ****ed at Troll Druids and Worgen Druids.. I'm no lore fanatic but that's messed up...

And the whole gear re-re-re-re-re-re-itemisation, that's ridiculous.

I'll agree that some race/class combinations or a little out there, but re-Itemization is something that has long been needed and I'm glad it's finally coming. No more wearing mail and leather due to those being better than plate. No more avoiding spirit items since spirits is *useless* for you. Gear will have the stats people won't and it will be compareable to other pieces of gear with different stats for different classes.

Though I am said ArP is going away. As an Arms Warrior, that's my life.

Oh yeah it might be good, but it's annoying as with every re-itemization I need to change gear.. and I don't mean a piece for a piece, but generally, switch from crit based to AP based and so on..

I know this is against WoW ToS, but can anyone tell me where I can sell my account?

Just unactivate it, and don't sell it. IF they see a new credit card on it now, they'll ban the account.

Even talking about it on these forums should be against these forum rules.

I've made my mind up that I'm going to be a Worgen druid, and perhaps a worgen hunter.

i've switched CC info three times in all cause i've always had to pay through a friend (no CC of my own).. and they didn't end up banning me :p. and i really dont see why its against the forum's rules. >.> it's wow tos not something illegal :o!

Anyone have any tips on battling with a Human Warrior, i've not played the game for a few months but got back into it a couple of days ago. I've never been an expert and usually just hit random attacks until the enemy is dead. But surely there is a better way of doing things to increase the most damage?

I usually start with Shoot or Charge to get enemies attention

then into Blood rage to generate some rage

then Battle Shout increase attack power

then hit Demoralizing Shout to reduce enemy attack power

then i'll hit a random combination of Heroic Strike, Mocking Blow, Rand, Overpower, Hamstring, Sweeping Strikes, Mortal Strike and Slam

I also have Thunderclap, Retaliation, Lifeblood & Sunder Armor if needed.

finally Execute to finish them off....

http://eu.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xm...ar&n=Forcer <-- link to my Armory page, like i said i'm quite in experienced so if i anyone can take a look and tell me how i can quickly improve, i've not played it properly for about 6 months so i'm a little out of date. Info on the attacks above and talents would be helpful. I'm also thinking of dropping my secondary professions cooking & first aid, is it worth doing it at this level in the game, any other reccomendations for secondary? my main are herbalism and mining.

Thanks

If you are Arms you wont be using slam, You should charge in and rend, then MS as you should have the "Warbringer" talent, then Overpower should proc, when all else is on CD and you have enough rage hit HS. Ill get a prio list up shortly

Have a look here, It's a good read http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f177/48619-...arms-guide.html

There is no need to drop secondary proffs are there are no more to learn yet. You can learn ALL of the secondary proffs. As for your main Proff, They are the money makers I use.

Well as a warrior the only stats you really need are strength, armor, hit and dodge/avoidance.

for dps/high threat build, check this out: http://www.tankspot.com/forums/f64/48488-u...tive-build.html

Also, this is from our guild forums as im not a tank, but have a few knowledgeable dudes who know their stuff...

Currently I am several addons that make my life easier as a tank.

Optitaunt

This addon alerts the raid of actions I am taking. I.E. When I [shield Wall] [Last Stand] or if [Taunt] fails. Currently, this addon is not working with DK tanks, but Dalios is using Tank Warnings which seems to be working just fine.

Tank Points

This handy addon will help you calculate your effective health and even help evaluate new gear.

Gnomecharmer

If you don't have marks bound to keys or don't want to you should grab this addon. By targeting any mob or player you can double click and assign a mark.

ScrollingCombatText

This addon is pretty much exactly what it says it is. It allows you to modify the location of damage done to you and by you and any heals you receive. It also tells you when you receive auras or procs i.e. [Revenge] or [Overpower] for warriors.

Bartender4

If you aren't using a barmod already I'd personally suggest Bartender4 because it is easy to use and easy to set up.

FuBar Addons -

If you use FuBar there are a couple of addons I'd suggest adding.

AbramsFu

I only suggest this addon because it displays your avoidance/uncrush (pre-3.0.2), armor damage reduction and displays your current armor. It isn't the best thing ever and can be a little slow to update between gear changes, but the conveniences out weigh the drawbacks imo.

DuraTek

This Fubar module calculates your durability and shows it in a percentage.

Any of these addons can be found on curse client if you use that program.

This seems to be the going high threat build for warriors at the moment. It also allows for fairly decent dps as an offtank when tanking is not required.

    • Valve finally confirms Steam Machine prices, starts at $1049 for 512GB option by Pulasthi Ariyasinghe The $1,428 option The Steam Hardware lineup that Valve announced last year is slowly starting to roll out. Following the recent Steam Controller launch, Valve has now confirmed the price of the Steam Machine, its all-in-one console-like solution for PC gaming in the living room. There are currently four variants being presented, with only the storage and the included controller being the biggest differences. All of the Steam Machines have the same internals consisting of a semi-custom AMD Zen 4 CPU with six cores and 12 threads, an RDNA 3 28CU GPU, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and 8GB of GDDR6 VRAM, all inside the familiar box Valve has been showing off for months now. The Steam Machine base model starts at $1,049. This has a 512GB NVMe SSD but does not come with a Steam Controller. Keep in mind that storage can be expanded with the microSD card slot too. Next, the $1,128 model has the exact same storage as the previous one but it does come with the new Steam Controller. If you need the Steam Machine to have more storage for games and apps than that, then the 2TB tiers are also available. The $1,349 Steam Machine has no controller once again, but it does ship with two extra faceplates (red fabric and solid walnut) to replace the standard black one. The final option costs $1,428, and it adds the controller back into the bundle. The Steam Machine ships with the Linux-based SteamOS. The box has a 1 Gigabit Ethernet port, DisplayPort 1.4, and HDMI 2.0, as well as one USB-C and four USB-A ports. Keep in mind that when purchasing standalone, the Steam Controller has a $100 price tag. With the above bundles, that drops to $80. It's a rather expensive machine for the internals it is touting, though the design and small form factor do help it somewhat. However, at the same time, the lack of upgradability hurts it. Valve says the ongoing parts shortages and massive price hikes for memory were the leading causes for this price. "The overall effect is that our original goal for the price of Steam Machine is no longer viable," added the company. "So the prices we're sharing today reflect the state of the world for manufacturing; or, more accurately, it reflects the price of the components as we've secured them over the past 6 months." Valve wants interested gamers to reserve it now to get the chance to pre-order a Steam Machine starting June 25, with shipping starting on June 29. Head here to sign up. The invites to buy it will be sent in a randomized order.
