Microsoft wouldn't have to buy Firefox to change it though because it's open source. They can just take the source and change it up abit then stick their logos on it. Just like some of the I(nternet) E(xploiter) based applications have done. (Maxthon and Avant Browser are the exact same with different names).

Those Office-like toolbars just don't fit in.

Its like half Office with the VS scroll bar and status bar.

And the Office-like toolbars break the 'tight integration with the OS' look.
